WTF????????????????????????????????? I have you ever ridden one? They are some of the most awesome rides ever IMO!!!!! They are so forceful, know manufacturers would ever dare do some of the stuff Anton Schwarzcopf designed. He was a genius, literally.

The only reason they are rusty are because they are old, but it doesnt make them a bad ride. Some Schwarzcopf rides i would do anything to be able to ride, but they are rapidly dissapearing!

Not really one for posts, but Eric12 has got me a tad angry by that stupid ignorant comment. Do you not know anything about coaster history ?? Schwarzkopf invented the 1st working vertical loop (revolution at SFMM) a launch coaster in 1978 that launched riders from 0 - 60mph in 3 seconds (Rita manages 0 - 61mph in 2.5 seconds 27 years later, his rides are known even now as some of the most smooth and high forced rides in the world (Dragster at CP only pulls 4 g's - Schwarzkopfs 4 looping Thriller pulls 6.5, he broke every record possible as far as travelling coasters are concerned, invented the 1st inverted coaster (which Arrow finished due to bankrupsy) - his list of achievements is way to long to list here. Get a bit of sense young man before you start posting mindless comments like that. Look here to start educating yourself: http://schwarzkopf.coaster.net/

A few achievements include making the only double loop where the 2nd is inside the 1st (thriller) and he also designed a ride with an outside loop to my knowledge. It never got built obviously. But he was a genius

I totally agree with all you say save Dreamland

Lol - yeah, the outside figure 8 loop. I forgot about that. No one else in the world has ever been crazy enough to attempt this one (except Anton himself of course) !! Click here to look at this baby: http://www.coasterglobe.com/features/hi ... g8loop.jpg
Sorry, Anton Schwarzkopf was THE man for the coasters of the 70s and 80s, and his soul still lives on in the millions of people STILL thrilled by his rides every year. Long live Anton !!! Love you man.....RESPECT - Oh, and in case you did not know Eric12 - some of Schwarzkopfs team now work for Intamin and have gone on to design such rides as Cedar Points top 3 coasters - Millenium Force, Top Thrill Dragster and Wicked Twister. Not to mention countless other Intamin rides.

I have ridden two of Schwarzkopf's coasters, Scorpion at BGT and Sooper Dooper Looper at Hersheypark. I like them both, but SDL is rather gentle, like a mine train with a loop. It was my first looping coaster and I liked it so much that I rode it three times straight.

Anton Schwarzkopf and Werner Strengel are the 2 most influential designers/engineers of the steel coaster age. In fact Strengel still engineers rides for B&M and Intamin.

Eric12 you cant say one of THE best coaster designers in history is crap to a group of enthusiasts without getting away with it! Yeah sure it was your opinion, but this is ours!!! [:D] Schwarzkopf rules, He was chief designer for Intamin for quite a while and he built some cool rides then aswell. Intamin wouldnt be half as good without the knowledge he gave them. He enlightened them [lol]

Incorrect. I don't know why so many people claim this is true, but there were a good deal of coasters that had a loop way before Revolution @ SFMM.

It is said to be the first modern looping coaster IF. The old wooden loopers were deemed highly unsafe and for a good 60 years no one even attempted to build a loop in a rollercoaster. Then along came revolution, and hence the modern looping coaster. Yes if you want to be picky it wasn't technicaly the first looping coaster, but you know

Yes this is true however I think he meant the first modern looping ride that didn't kill people.

Please note I did say 1st WORKING vertical loop, not first vertical loop. Yes they were built before, but they did not work without killing or injuring people due to the high forces on the body. From a coaster history program I once watched, they said not only did some die, people also got off with broken bones and a lot passed out. I would not really class this as a 'working' looping ride [:O]

Yeah, those coasters DID work. Just because they were too intense for most people doesn't mean Schwarzkopf deserves all the credit for the first looping coaster.

Intense for some people ??? So its ok for me to build a 1000ft working coaster as longs as half live at the end of it?? Yes, this sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Silly people, they shouldnt ride it if their body cant stand the 10gs
