Myself, I will not rate a ride if one of my coaster's is in the weekely comp. I would rather have the community rate my track low and lose rather than me down rating others' tracks and win.
IMO, probably the smartest thing you have said to date (and yes, I have read all your comments on rides lately -- to include the little bicker-fest with Thorazine).

Huh? I thought the point of ratings was to express our opinions. Really, if you ask me the vast majority of the people around here are far, far, too lenient.
Yeah man -- but consider the source of who you are trying to reason with.

Yes it is the opinion, so if i gave your (thorazine) Dynamite a 4 or 5, that is ok? No, its not. Dynamite is a good ride. But in theory, i could give it that. Then, in retaliation, you could post an underrate topic, but then that is taking away my freedom of opinions and ratins you talk about. I do agree though that there is some sort of underrating going on here for personal gain for a medal, weekly or monthly. This whole site and stuff is for fun, its not some huge competition to put others down and to be the best. Just for fun.
Matt -- now, you know my ratings, and how I will spank to death a piece of junk. The problem here, is the n00bs who DO NOT know how to rate, or those that retaliate for no reason but to show their arse to the community. THAT is what ticks off the accomplished designers. Don't you think it is odd that I have not put a ride up lately? It is not by coincidence.

Any of the older members here feel a sense of Deja-Vu about this topic?

pdonahue check my member number, you'll see that I have seen this topic spring up many times before. I think it springs up when problem members/rates come around. Right now i think we have that.
