Ever since my front seat ride on Mind Eraser at SFEG and sitting on the final break run I've wondered something about SLC's. Why is there a piece of upside down track at the end of the final breaks? Well, today I finally did some research and I discovered that the piece of track on top is what allows trains to enter from a transfer track. It rotates around and the train comes off the transfer and into the station.
With this transfer track, some SLC's can run up to three trains. Pretty crazy on a coaster that's only about 2200 feet long.
Sorry if you think of this as spam, but I thought others might be wondering what I was wondering. I also have a picture of Limit at Heide Park that shows the upside down piece of track. http://www.rcdb.com/ig987.htm?picture=2
