Why didn't they interview you Edge? [lol]

Those shells can be very dangerous though. I mean if you just think of how big the explosions in the sky are and then translate that to the ground there's a lot of destruction going on.

how sad... this reminds me of a time my neighbor, being an idiot, thought he was cool, and his dad bought him all these illegal fireworks, anyways so he lit this fire work called Butterfly, and it goes up in the air quickly, and then goes out and comes back down, anyways so he placed it on the pavement the wrong way, the butterfly went up like fifty feet, then it came straight down, and almost hit one of us, then he tried to light another butterfly, and it went up, and came back down on his grass, and lit it on fire right by his dads foot.

Why didn't they interview you Edge?

Because the press are dumbasses. As proved by claiming it was a Catherine wheel. I also just heard from my friends mother who also works at the hospital, that the burns on the childs leg may be so servre they will have to amputate his leg

Anyone watch the ITV evening news, it was featured on there. Had a shot of one of my old school friends who is a security gaurd there [lol] Plus the people who they are interviewing dont know anything about what happened, i should phone the idiots up and tell them exactly all about it

if you covered your eyes, you should turn out alright, other than that you'd might have some minor to serious burnings on your skin. I remember one year for the 4th of july, our neighbors got a whole bunch of motors, and they just wouldn't launch in the air so they were exploding on the ground. I amagine it was like that, except with more people.

A huge motar shell, one of those large ones they fire off, exploding in the middle of a crowd of people. That does alot more damage than just minor burns. As i said, it literaly burnt one boys skin down to the bone. They are literaly flying bombs

The boy in question has been moved to a specialist hospital , they say in Sheffield, but I think they may have got that wrong and meant pinderfields
in Wakefield. Either way it proves that even organised events can't be totally safe.

how sad, I'd not be a very happy camper if i were that poor kid. I think they are lucky that is was a mortar, and not a huge sparkly thing that goes hundreds of feet high. that would have killed many. keep us updated, edge

Edge is like family here, either way, you care to pay for those expenses since you are suggesting such?

hey gouldy, you remember this happening at the molineux a few years ago, i hate fire works 'cos my dog is a nervous wreck with them, boing boing

you know, I'd completely forgotten about that actually, but I was there. Wolves vs Newcastle, a firework got blown over by the wind just before it was about to go off, flew directly into the crowd and smacked a woman in the face. That actually is the most shocking thing I've ever seen, but it wasn't an exploding one like the one at Wicksteed, so I can imagine how much more shocking that would be.

Can I just ask you mate, what exactly do you mean by "boing boing" ey? You're not a baggy am you? There's too many of you on this site!

this is stuff about the inccident at molineux a couple of years back, this was damn shocking at the time for those who were there, including myself, so like I said before, I can't imagine how bad it must have been at Wicksteed

To put it in perspective, i was standing about 5 ft behind that tree, and the firework exploded about 5ft in on the nearest side of the orange fence

Yeah, i didn't actualy email them at all. I submitted it on the bbc site in the section 'How did you spend your fireworks night' I though i'd post my story and bam! there it is on the news. I was well aware of the distance between the spectators and the audience and every year the crowd is moved further and further away from the fireworks, and also the double safety barrier that they had this year. All these safety measure did not work in the least and was unfortunatly proved on Saturday night

Its awesome your email was on the news when you didnt even email them. lol.

Anyway i hope this young lad gets better, and i really hope he doesnt need his leg amputating. That would be awful, especially at such a young age.
