The rules state that the height must be under 200ft.; does this refer to the track, supports, or both? If the height of my coaster was 199ft. tall and the highest support extended to 201ft. would I be disqualified?

my layout is very simple: drop out of station, prelift section, lift, bunch of high speed inversions, mcbr(don't care wether it's good or bad), couple of nice and smooth inversions, brakes

the "bunch of high speed inversion are the "back" part of my out'n'back layout

I still might make a layout... all I got is some prelift crap, a whole bunch of inversions... 8 so far, I'm also using a lift.

It goes into the yellow alot, and one red spot, hopefully I can change that, or remake the entire layout.

Some of you guys are going really fast. Im only on my 2nd inversion (or if my first element counts as an inversion then im on 3) or so.

Yeah i would also like to know the answer to IF's question.

I'm still trying to work out a good, original layout. I've got my prelift done, but that's about it. [:(]

The coaster's height refers to the height of the running rails. Supports can go over 200 ft, and the track's spine can go over 200 ft as well. The height will be measured as the distance from the ground to the track rails at the coaster's highest point.

By the way, sorry for freaking everyone out on the disqualifications from the last few contests...

now that you mention it, you've still got a rating to fix

couple of more questions:

1. Does 3ds terrain have limits?
2. Can you terraform (no 3ds, just terraform) outside the template

oh, crap... I forgot about hyyyper's rating. Sorry about that. I got distracted with coming up with this contest, and managing the buzz around Meteora. I'm writing a reminder on my hand right now, and I'll get right to it when I get home in an hour.

1. 3ds terrain is still terrain, so keep it down to 2 truckloads. If the 3ds terrain you are speaking of is for underground tunnels, however, feel free to use it. Just don't get carried away.

2. It would be a waste of your time. IRL that is where the rest of the amusement park is, and therefore terrain modifications are mostly impossible. You can do it, but I won't even look at it so don't bother.

Good idea.

Also, could we use a different template instead?

a woodie doesnt go upside 20 times, and then you are completely avoiding the contest rules, and the template should stay the same, for it kinda limits you

Hey I was wondering if a lift launch would be okay (like the HULK, where in real life it's not two divided segments). Just wondering...

Yeah, that's fine as long as the lift segment is being used as a pre-launch and not its source of momentum. You could always just make the pre-lift a brake segment and avoid any worry at all, of course.
