i know i'm probably not the only one outraged at the new airport rules (if you're not familiar with them, they are now allowing screwdrivers and scissors less than 4 inches long on carry on items.)

those are the very tools that the terrorists used to commit 9/11's tragedy

TSA said they wanted to focus on the bigger threats like bombs &c., but also mentioned this was a way to cut travel time for the holidays.
is it just me or does it take about the same amount of time to measure the scissors than to confiscate them?
what the heck!?!?!?!?!

Or, if you don't like the rules use one of the 12312 other ways of traveling the globe.

It's kinda scary to think that TSA is allowing that. It dosen't take much to kill someone with a screwdriver even a smaller one. This is a very dangerous time to travel, espically when TSA is checking so many bags they let a few go undetected.

^^Someones fist can do just as much damage.

It is nearly impossible to check every single one of the millions upon millions of bags of luggage that pass through airports every year, it is even more difficult to search every single persons pockets, shoes, briefcase, rectal passage, ear etc etc.
Then there is the question as to what is considered a weapon and what is not? Does my belt pose a threat to everyone because it can be used as a whip? Does the pen I use to do crosswords on my 15 hour flight to Timbuktu pose a threat? No, not if I am a sane person.
I don't see how it is such a dangerous time to fly. Flying today is as safe, if not safer than it ever has been. There are more security gaurds at airports, better detection equipment, better trained airplane attendants, better trained mechanics, etc etc etc.
Unless your are flying a small Cesna into Congo or Columbia, you are far safer than most other modes of transportation that exist today.
Unless of course you are riding your favourite roller coaster....[:p]

Look on the bright side, they're not taking any chances with terrorists. Isn't that what we want? I don't know about you, but I feel safer knowing that terrorst are more likely (even though it probably never happens) to get caught through air. And just take a cruise, they're fun [pshades]

I travel one week a month to somewhere in the country and I have seen security run the scope from Gestapo tactics to blind beggers working TSA. I have been in uniform, full service dress mind you, and asked to step aside so they can run the wand over me. Puh-lease, this poll is as rediculous as those changing the rules or those attempting to enforce them. Give it 5 years, and Osama will be back in first class, it is a simple, known fact.

If people don't care, why do they post to make their opinion known? [lol] Like on TV polls, people actually send in text messages that cost money to vote for the "I don't care" option.

Anyway, I don't care, so here I am posting in this thread [:)]. To be honest with you, I wouldn't really care if everyone died tomorrow, why does it matter? Nothing any human, animal, alien or any entity has ever done or ever will do has ever mattered and never will matter [lol][:)]
