I wasn't sure if I should put this in here or Real Coasters. Anyway, since I'm probably going to MFI next summer, I need as many tips as possible!!! The questions I can think of right now are:

-Can I ride just about all the major rides in about 6 hours or so, including about an hour of taking breaks to get several minutes for my coaster DVD? (Sorry, don't know how to upload video segments) I might arrive at around 2 PM or so, earlier if recommended.

-How good is the park? Like recommendations and stuff.

-When does the park close at the end of summer? (Late Augst to Early September)

-Where can I find a brochure?

- Is the food good?

- Would the ride ops let you take on ride photos/footage? (Crazy Mouse, Silver Comet, Daredevil, Ferris Wheel, etc.)

- How long are the lines generally at the end of the summer? (Late aug. - Early Sept.)

- Do the rides break down often?

- How are the lines in the waterpark generally?

Silver Comet looks sooooooooooo good! I have been wanting to goto MFI for a long while now, but havn't been able to yet.

I'm sure IntaminFan will give you some tips as it seems that he likes Silver Comet quite a bit.

Yeah, it does look awesome. I can't wait. I'll try to upload my coaster videos when they are finished around October or so. (Because of time reasons, they will probably have different music choices than the DVD, or I may re- use some of the songs)

Silver Comet, frankly, is not one of the better CCIs. It *looks* great, but doesn't deliver as well as it could.

Out of the CCIs I've ridden, I'd rank 'em like this.

1. Cornball Express
2. Shivering Timbers
3. Great White
4. Excalibur
5. Silver Comet
6. Hoosier Hurricane
7. Hurricane

^What didn't you like about it? Just about every review I have read about it has been good, if not great.

6 hours is plenty of time to get on all the major rides. Over half the park is for young children and families, and the only part that has anything us coaster enthusiasts would be interested in is the area by Silver Comet, and it's pretty small. There's Nitro, Patriot, some spinning wild mouse coaster they just put in earlier this season (which I didn't get a chance to ride yet), those whirly spinning things (that get me sick to my stomach), a terrible "drop tower" (I can't think of the real name for these things at the moment - it's not really a drop tower) that shoots you up then back down, a sub-par log flume if you want to ride that, and Silver Comet of course. And the ferris wheel is worth going on to get kickass pictures of Silver Comet. None of these rides have long lines at all, and if your lucky/go at the beginning or end of the season there will be virtually no wait at all for Silver Comet so marathoning is possible within the 6 hour time margin.

As for the quality of MFI, it's a nice little family park... it is mainly a kiddy park though.
Operating Schedule

I'm pretty sure you can get a brochure at the park entrance, but I'm not completely sure. If your talking about an online brochure (like a pdf file), I don't think they are available to download... not on their site at least.

The food is pretty average, with the exception of the fries. There's a small food stand by Silver Comet's station, right next to Nitro, and the fries are delicious! Some of the best I've ever had.

I've taken an onride video of Silver Comet (available to download on this site), but I didn't ask the ride operators' permission before doing so... I just snuck it on like I do with all coasters when I want to take a POV. From the ferris wheel, I've brought my camera on it several times and the ride ops never have any objections. You'll be able to take pictures/video from the ferris wheel just fine, I just can't speak for the other rides.

Around late August/early September, the lines start to die down (not that they're ever very long), so you probably won't be waiting for any longer than 10-15 minutes max for any ride. During the last hour of park operation there's no waiting at all.

The rides rarely ever break down (besides Nitro), and if Silver Comet does it's for a very short period of time... unless the mechanics decide to randomly walk the track, which has happened on only one or two of my visits. The only ride you might not get to ride is Nitro, which is down quite often. It's nothing spectacular though, as neither are any other of the flat rides there. And I can't say anything about the Mouse as the last time I was at the park was right before it opened.

And sorry I can't offer any information on the water park, as I've never been to that section. But if your planning to go to it, I would recommend getting to the park by no later than 1PM or so. And even with that, you'll have tons of time to do everything.

1. It's fairly short, basically a few hills, a turn, another hill, a few more turns, and brakes.

2. The airtime isn't very strong.

It's not *bad*, but it's not that great either, It's stilla CCI, but definatly not one of thier more inspired designs. It just feels like something thrown together on a small budget, which is more or less what it is. It's a good fit for the park, but it's not at all a destination coaster.
