We don't have to be wiggers...

To hell with Patriot, its just a weaker BTR. What I'm looking forward to is Black Mamba! Odd thing is that Patriot is 4 hours away while Mamba is like, 15 hours away with planes, trains, and automobiles!

Jimths, sence when did batman the ride have an immelman, or a complete and awesome banked helix? This is a way better ride imo. And ofcourse everyones waiting for Black Mamba!

LOL @ Tcon, thats a great one.

You assume that Patriot will be weak...based on what? How are you 100% certain that Mamba will not be weak? I could easily design something in a very small area that isnt as strong as you may think. The only report we have of it being intense is that Phantasialand said they wanted to keep the near 5G helix. But that doesnt talk of the rest of the ride.

You guys only speculate because its so much like Nemesis but really, I can tell already that it follows all of the same design calculations of their later rides. The wingover, while sharp, is flat. Most of the flat wingovers arent that intense but they do whip. However, the whip is more of a fast constant rotation rather than Batman or Raptors accelerating whip.

I just find it funny how because its small, its automatically being grouped into the "intense" category and because Patriot, while it may very well end up being not too intense, isnt small its immediatly being cast as "weak".

It's all about directional changes, which B&M's seem to lack. If you notice on thier later designs, its like they go out of their way to make sure they're rides flow perfectly. Look at silver bullet, except for the drop and the second wing over, and the turn from the first break run into the second/station, everything is a left turn. (giving you that giggity flowing motion gagoogitty) The same goes with the Patriot, which has this "lets have our elements flow together" kind of motion, which is a dead give away that this new ride will be, "Tame."
But here on the other side of the world from America, in this well themed park called Phantasia land, we're getting this heavily themed ride called, "Black Mamba." And do to the looks of it, there's a possibility that it will have great directional change. Remember its not the force that makes the ride, but its how its delivered. (look at Goliath @SFMM, its smooth, delivers up to 4 g's, but yet, its not even in my top 10 coasters.) Where as Riddler's Revenge only delivers up to a little over 3 g's, but because of that wipping you get all over the second half of the ride (after the MCBR) its one of my favorites.

^^^ Yea, but Ive been on rides with directional change that are pretty mediocre too. If it doesnt carry the speed or the G's, directions mean nothing.

^ true, but based on how most B&M's are built, if they designed the ride with directional change, it'll have the speed to make it thrilling. And B&M's have a fair ammount of force to begin with so if they kept the same force they have now, and combine that with speed (which they also already have) and just put more directional change (with a wipping kind of motion) they could easily be the top steel coaster manufacturer once again hands down.

Yea, old update just not posted here.

The colors on this ride are EASILY the best red/white/blue combo I have ever seen. Its simply fantastic. Gorgeous even. Im not even the most patriotic person in the US. I just think they look awesome.

And this picture...gah. That Zero G looks so flat and pretty:

If you look closely, i dont know if many people have noticed, raptor and nemesis and the old inverts are more intense and forceful because they are NOT totally heartlined. [;)] Look at raptors first drop closely for example. It doesnt look right like it would if it were heartlined.
