^^DCS, if your track is already VERY smooth, then yes. But if you have segments or transitions that are not so rough, you will need a HUGE filter with that high vertex resolution.
I was stating that sometimes you dont want a huge filter. Not all transitions in coasters are long and gradual so sometimes you need that lower filter and because of the lower filter your existing track will need to be pretty close to perfect.
So for you people who use the elementary, yes, high resolutions (I use it too) produce smooth results but only because the existing track there is very, very good.
