Yesterday was the test day at drievliet. About 500 people were invited to ride the new X-car coaster. At 12am the gates opened, i flashed my ticket and ran to the ride. I've been in the very first ride and the very last ride that day.[8D]

The ride itself:
The ride is seriously awesome but way too short. To be exact: 25 sec of thrill. The launch is kickass and the first inversion has a really nice floater and is really close to hangtime on the top: (-0.2g). The bottom of the dive loop produces a nice 4,3g and then we go into an really nice horseshoe. When we exit the horseshoe we'd fly into an insane airtime hill that drops an awesome -0.8g which is just fun! After that you'd fly into that weird cork/heartline roll which gives for my feeling a fun -0.5g hangtime. Too fun! In the 140 degree overbank (maurer calls it an 140 loop... lol!) you'd get some slight lateral g's since the speed isn't that huge anymore. After the final turn your on the brake discussing with everyone that it was just too short. [lol]

Theming and stuff:
There was no real theming yet, but during the season they are going to add more scenery and they are going to enclose the station too.

Special stuff:
During the day still alot of rollbacks/refuses to launch happened. I enjoyed myself twice from an rollback. The best from this launch system is: When the launch notices halfway the launch that it doesn't launch fast enough. It disabled the launch so the car will only make it up halfway the height. To reduce the possibily to stall somewhere in the middle of the ride. The bad thing about a rollback is that the ride opps have to puch the car MANUALLY back to the start of the launch. And yes, you've got to be strong to do that!
Allthough i've been one of the only 6 lucky peeps that day that seriously enjoyed an SLOW ride! The launch was not fast enough but the launch kept going. So eventually we finished with like 2 sec hangtime in the first inversion, crawled though the horseshoe. Floater over the airtime hill and crawled though the corkline with like 4-5 sec hangtime [8D]. The reactions from the folks in the queue were awesome since everyone thought we were going to stall! [lol] And the best thing yet: It's all on tape! Watch the video at the end of the trip report, it included first ride onride, slow ride, PIV, and some pushback material. [:D]

Enough talking, here are the tons of pictures:

Thanks for the report Dirk. I added it to the front page news.

It looks like a fun ride, better than I thought it would be. It also looks WAY better than G-Force!

Well, i sure had a fun day, from the 500 invitations, i guess only 200 or so turned up, so that meant more rides for me, but to the ride:

The rid itself:
Launch: It was a shame they had a rolling start, stopping just before launch would have raised the adrenaline significantly. The launch is powerfull and very very nice.
The Dive Loop: Really cool, starts to bank really slow, and last five meters you get a really cool "Whop" and you twist the remaining degrees. Then you get some hangtime, which is really great in those restrains. On the way down you get many many positives which, during my first ride, really suprised me for such a small ride.
The Turn: I wish they'd lowered it more and thus add some more banking, but i was as nice one
The Bunnyhop: Ejector in it's truest form, it really sends you skyrocketing into those comfortable restrains.
The BarrelTurn: Very nice, you twist over the station and have some serious hangtime for like 1,5 or 2 seconds
The Overbank: Again, hangtime, really great feeling when you're not getting hurt by OTSR's.

Theming: Crap, just some barrels on concrete and that's it
Capacity: Crap, i wish they had two-car trains, that would have helped a lot.

Overall rating 7.5/10

And stay tuned for that decent quality video

Hyyyper was lucky to get 2 rollbacks in one ride... Allthough he stopped 3 times on the launch... The first wasn't a rollback... Just an refuse to launch...

But yeah:
- I've had the very first ride
- I've had 2 rollbacks
- I've got the slowest ride ever! [pshades]
- I've had the last ride ever (with 2 maurer employees [8D])

2 more pics from me in action:

hey dirk, i see that you have an on ride photo of the overbank turn, i was wondering if i could have that image sent to me full resolution, as the last one i got, couldnt really be cropped to fit my screen, also, the sixth picture down is pretty sweet of the overall ride, so if theres no trouble, it'd be cool if i could have that one also. bsktballdude10@yahoo.com res.- 1440x900 thanks again.

That looks awesome, I really like the negative hang time g?????????s on the dive loop and the roll (barrel turn). Dirk?????????s video showed just how much hang time anybody can expect. The ride did seem a bit short though and from the construction photos the launch looked a bit more hectic but it is definitely a ride to experience over and over again.

And since the park is outside the seasons usually dead it's a great ride to just stay seated and keep riding [8D] I did the same with the spinner that was removed now.
