I don't know if you'd want it WingOver, but I might be able to help with the corkscrew supporting. You could send me the track by e-mail. If you don't know my mail or don't remember, then PM for it.

The corkscrew supports are fine now, I just had a bit of trouble getting them to pass the tunnel test. I actually put the label on the wrong link before, but I've corrected that now. Anyway, I've managed to add vertical colunms since I took the screenshots, although one of them had to be on a slight incline to pass the tunnel test, so now it looks something like this: http://www.rcdb.com/ig1549.htm?picture=11
So thanks for the offer, Woodie Man, but i've got it sorted now. [;)]

Ok, I made a start on the 3ds supports, but whenever I import them into my track they're really small, and really difficult to line up. Is it possible to load the 3ds file with the correct sizes?

I thought of a way to get it to line up properly, but now I've got a new problem. The footers it creates stick up in the air about 10m, and then if you go below that it makes everything behind the footers transparent. If anyone's got any experience with 3ds model exporting, please, let me know. This is turning out to be much more difficult than I thought...

Do you have the Auto Scale box unchecked in the 3ds import option in the NL editor?

After two long weeks of hard work, the supports, track connectors and footers are finally done, and faded [:D]. From the distance I think they look great, but close up you can see the join very clearly. On some of them there is a slight gap where the different pieces of track werent't in a straight line, but since the editor won't allow you to move free nodes in less than 0.01m intervals there's nothing I can do about that.
Anyway, generally, it gives the exact effect I wanted, and it's the best I could have done given the limitaions in NL and the construction kit. No screenshots yet, you're all just gonna have to wait untill the video, hehehe...

New video Added! Includes plenty of POV footage, as well as some great offride shots too.

Note: with the video recording in the background, and the insane amount of 3ds, it ended up recording with only about 15 fps or less, which would explain the general roughness of the POV shots.

Feel free to leave any comments. [;)]

Really nice video!

I noticed one thing in it though. Are the drive tires needed on the final brake run?

Well, yeah, it comes to a complete stop, and it's not on an incline. Do you think I should make it let the train straight through (at about 10kmh/6mph) and then stop on the next brake run?

Yeah, let the train go through. Its a minor thing, but I don't think any B&Ms have tires on the final brake run, only on the ready brakes/transfer track brakes right before the station.

If you do let it go through that first brake run..make sure its not a block brake or else the train will get stuck thereif estop is pressed

and then the flat section right after is the one with the tires

The latest screenshots have been uploaded to the NLDC. I've also deleted the old ones, as they were getting a bit out dated. Now I'm working on the 3ds station building, which is turning out to be much harder than i expected (like everything else in this project.[lol]) With any luck, the release date should be in early January.

WingOver, this is one of the better coasters when it comes to view. The last screen of the entire layout is just awesome. The fading is great on both track and sppts, and the sppts are done very well. The twistyness of the track also brings an intimidating feel. I cant wait to see what your staion comes ou like. If you stick through it like everything else on this projects, it should turn out great. It seems like everyone of your tracks ahas improved in a diffferent way, and its great to see you try 3ds. Good luck!

Sorry I am late on this -- very nice video for certain man. Thanks for taking the effort to show us the progress.

Also, this is an excellent shot by the way, the paint fade is very nicely done!

Theming is proving to be too much for me to handle right now, I just don't have the 3ds skills do do it properly. Therefor, I'm asking if anyone else with good 3ds experience would like to volunteer to do it for me. It's not much, just a few tunnels, a station building and something to cover the switchtracks. Any help will be greatly appreciated. [;)]

Well ive stopped doing 3ds for people now, because in the last few weeks ive done so many odd bits here and there on other peoples tracks its just getting annoying. BUT if i hand ti would have offered, but TBH over the xmas holidays i cant be arsed [:(][lol] Im only posting to say that your track does look awesome. [:)] Cant wait to ride it dude. BTW if you are struggling to find some 3ds, you are welcome to use any from my existing tracks. Just give me credit [;)] But i wouldnt do anyway as none of them will fit in wih the theme of this [lol] And TBH they are all on OC so they arent the best. I cant wait to get a new piece of 3ds software.
