Looks like The Rollercoaster at Blackpool Pleasure beach is getting seat belts. It's sad to see this, since it was as far as I know one of the last coasters in opperation without a restraint of any kind. Anyone know any other rides with no restraint?

yeah its a shame but i can understand the change in legisation, there are a few idiots out there remember (cough....one click....cough). but as far as this report shows the pleasure beach is gearing up for something of mamouth proportions.

I think seatbelts arn't really all that bad. On rides with OTSR's you wouldn't notice them and on woodies you can ussually leave the belt a bit slack so that it has no effect.

On that ride yeah, it would suck. But would they really make you pull the belt really tight?
In the end though, I would rather have them just have seatbelts that can still be 'slacked' a bit than installing a full out restraint system because some stupid kid decided to jump out.

Yeah I was talking about this on the BPB Gudie and in the end the coaster will loose the title of NO RESTRAINTS but seatbelts don't really do much. The ride doesn't have much airtime anyway so not much will be lost.

hey, if youre that disappointed about seatbelts, just unbuckle it when you leave the station, and buckle it back right after the brakes [lol]

Right, like breaking a parks rules is a good idea. Only if you want to be ejected from the park and or banned.

Most of the Jet Stars and similar custom models have no form of restraint, they were designed to be safe without them.

Yeah, but it's the dumbasses that stand up and do stupid crap on them which spoils it for everyone. I really dont see what difference a seat belt will make though, personaly i would just unbuckle it straight away, i doubt the ride ops will even check to see if they are secure
