My puffer is dying. I think it either got attacked by the gold snail I have in there or it got sick. It's mostly sitting at the bottom now and when it does swim around, it's all over the place upside down, sideways. I threw in some erythromicyn but the rest of the fish ate it all up before my puffer did. Oh well, he was / is a really nice fish. Maybe he gets well from the erythromicyn, if not, another one down the toilet. I flushed a black molly today since the gold snail dropped on it and sucked shut on him and killed it. I had to pull it off and a piece of meat came with it. I didn't know gold snails were killers. Anyone want to see a picture of the snail?
Ph yeah, the puffer is the yellow fish with black dots on it, you can see it's top between the skull and shell. he's in the middle at the bottom. My betta, 2 bala charks, molly and snails are doing fine, only the puffer is sick or dying and the black molyl that was raped in the day are the goners.

They get along just fine actually. They never fight one bit nor even try to chase one another.

Aren't puffer fish supposed to be in brackish water? It's been awhile since i've read up on it, so I could be wrong.

sorry about the fish, bud. I just lost one a couple of weeks ago, too.

That sucks. I would try to get you a new one but then i would have to mail it to you and it could die and my parents won't let me send money.

that was a tropical fish. Oh well, puffer's are hard to find around my area. took me a year to find this one around a 50 mile radius from my house [lol] I went to petco today after my chiropractic appt. and they didn't have any. ONe of the worers there gave me a card of a place that has them. I might go tomorrow after the rain has stopped.

Sucks man. My fish is dying right now too, this tiny grey one that's been alive for like 2 years. Ah well, at least it wasn't a dog or something, that you get way more attatched to. Good luck finding another one.

I have a dwarf puffer and a figure eight puffer in my tank. They are easy to find around us, most places have them and they are cheap too. Plus my puffers aren't aggressive at all, In fact, my beta splendens chases him around if anything. I'm after a black ghost knife fish, but they are hard to come by at a reasonable price around here, starting around ?????????20

Did you ever see it 'puff'.
If you did it was worth the money, thats all they're good for really.
God bless your little fishy.

The puffers tend not to puff in home aquariums unless under server stress or are in the jaws of another fish, and if they do it often results in death as the pressure in an aquarium isnt enough to let the fish deflate
