Octane

Octane is a woodie that I worked on for about two and a half weeks. I feel I've done the best in smoothing it and I am proud of the result. It's a crazy woodie with many high turns that quickly pull back to the ground, many airtime moments, including one very surprising airhill about 70m from the MCBR.

I would like to express my gratitude towards Jakizle and Z00Z3R. They both gave me great advice and help on making my ride better, and it wouldn't be nearly what it is now if they did not assist me. Thank you both.

I would like some criticism on how to make woodies like this one better in the future. I've found a brand new custom smoothing technique which I call "Nerking" and it has proven 100% efficient, Octane being the first design I performed Nerks on.

Thank you.

As noobish as it seems, it's very efficient and helped me unconditionally to get out those really nasty pumps that seem impossible to fix just by using beziers.

It works mainly when you have a design with an over-average amount of track segs. In the area of the pump, highlight the track control point while also getting the two track segs around it, delete the node, and then select split-seg. In short, you're just removing a track point, and by doing so it evens out to other points near it and hitting split-seg gives it a point to make it stay there. It must be done when the track is finished, and normally you'd just do it to the whole thing. Like I said, n00bish, but quite the method.
