As a slight diversion from my on going build "Project Sphinx", I'm building a medium sized woodie. Not being the biggest woodie fan ever, this is a little bit of a stab in the dark for me, but I am armed with previous advice given to me by a couple of the members here, on a wooden coaster that I made that was never uploaded. This woodie is a lot bigger than that woodie and rather more adventurous, well adventurous for me heh heh. Like I said earlier, I'm not as into woodies as some, but persnoally, I have impressed myself here.

Thank you to jpecool and TConwell for testing both the old woodie that I mentioned and this new one [:)]

Some pictures of the ride can be found nyah: http://nldc.interfix.net/p1466

As yet, only the trackwork is complete, so don't expect to click on that link and be greeted by beautiful, rolling wooden structure [:P], I plan to do all of the wide supports and bracing entirely custom though, so when it's finished, it should, SHOULD look great [:)]

A few stats:
Height (from ground): 90ft (27m)
Height (from bottom of editor/lowest point): 104ft (31m)
Drop height: 88ft
Legnth: 3122.54ft (951.75m)
1 air hill
1 banked air hill
2 bunnyhops
1 'double up'
1 'double down'
1 turnaround (floating transition exit)
1 turnaround (floating transition entrance)
1 underground tunnel
1 high turn
1 diving turn
1 helix

If anyone wants to suggest a name, feel welcome to. I will think of a name for it myself in time, but one of your suggestions might be better [;)] heh heh.

Yeah the layout looks very well thought through and offering everything a woodie can. What are the airtime/lateral g's? Will you use PTC's or Millennium Flyers?

There is no massive airtime or massive laterals, the highest negative g force is -1.3g and the highest lateral is 1.5g, however both are sustained.

I am using PTC's, classic 4 seat

Sounds great! To me, any coaster should never go higher than -1,3 anyways, and 1.5 lats sustained will do for me too... [worship]

1.5 is nothing. SOunds great Gouldy, i really like the layout. 1.3 sustained airtime is pretty damn good though!

heh,I'm just getting to grips with this crazy ass software I got from work, "Auto CAD 10", it's ridiculously powerful software, made for designing massively complex machines, like one I'm currently building at work. The license for them to use it on 4 computer cost them nearly ?????????5000, which if you ask me is a little over the top, but they have given me their "promotion" disc that they got sent to trial the software before they bought it, so it's missing a few smaller feature but all the basic stuff is there, but I just can't believe how powerful the thing is [lol]. So yeah, anyway, theming is due to start on Project Sphinx any time now really, but for now, back to supporting this bastard! [lol]
