FN, Canadian dollars aren't worth as much as US dollars. You should know that.

So? When I bought my Paramount seasons passes back in September they were only $59.
Even if they did convert from the US price it would only be $69.16 according to www.xe.com
La Ronde is far from being an excellent park and is no where near the size of SFMM, yet the pass is almost $30 more??

The price of season passes often has to do with where most of the park's guests come from. Whichever group gets the most business for the park is usually the one that pays the highest prices.

Jackson, NJ is not exactly an overly-populated area, and most of Six Flags Great Adventure's business is from Philadelphia and New York City, which means that they bend the out-of-state people over backwards in order to make a profit. Since they do not get as much business from the local area, they can offer great deals to the locals because it will not change their profits alot.

Disney is the same way... they charge $60 a day from out-of-staters, but Florida residents can get a 'Play 4 Days' pass for around $100. Also, Busch Gardens Tampa... $60 per day for one admission, but only $100 a year for an annual pass that includes parking, discounts on food and merchandise, and huge discounts for getting into other Busch Gardens and Sea World parks.

A park like LaRonde, however, gets nowhere as near out-of-area guests, so they have to charge more money to the locals in order to make money.

By the way, the $20 price that I qouted as the admission to Holiday World... the actual admission price for regular guests is $30. I got is for $20 because I am a member of the American Coaster Enthusiasts. We get a $10 discount. In May, my admission price will be $0, but I'll just keep quiet about how that happened.

.... 15 dollars is a rip off..... to top it off what's this i hear about "no re-entry??? who's peice of sh*t idea is that? for me re-entry is CRUCIAL to a visit to magic mountain... i usually stay on the other side of the freeway at the motel so i can stay ovewr night.. theyre cool about you leaving your car the next day so you can take the shuttle and leave the car all weekend... the thing is that what we usually do is park the car in the morning and secure a room , but we come back at lunch time to check in... we couldn't do that if there's no reentry , so it's like we'd have to pay the 15 dollars and drive back to s.d. in the middle of the night... that sucks....

I remember going to SFMW last summer and I remember the parking being $20. it might've been $10 But I'm somewhat sure it could've been 20 Dollars. I really foud it unfair. Although it paid itself. My mom was saving coupons that had said "Buy one get one free ticket" and it helped us save more then $600! We had 11 people with us because we were with our whole family including aunts and uncles and cousins! The price could've been well over 1000 Dollars!Plus we got to ride all the coasters except Zonga cause it was under maintainence!

they decided against the no re-entry thing, but $15 is way overpriced, not even disney charges that, and like I said, disney has a much more quality park then the SF chain, but Snyder will be damn sure to rape us hard and fast, cuz he's such a [r] [lol]

Here is a comparisign of my last visit to SFGA versus my last visit to Holiday World. I think it's very obvious why I'm never going back to the corporate bastard-run park.

my most recent list of Six Flags expenditures for 1 day at the park:
$15 - parking
$50 - park entry
$10 - drinks
$18 - food
TOTAL: $98 for one friggin' day.

And what did that 98 bucks get me?

The good:
-Nitro, Medusa, El Toro. Yeah, the coasters are pretty much the only good thing.

The bad:
-litter
-no water fountains
-unattentive staff
-slow queue lines
-writing on ride entrance walls
-line jumpers (where's the security?)
-EVERYTHING is horribly overpriced ($3 just for a bottle of coke?)

Now, a quick comparisign to my most recent visit to Holiday World:
$0 - parking
$20 - park entry
$0 - waterpark entry
$0 - sunscreen
$0 - drinks
$8 - food
TOTAL: $28

What is my $28 getting me?

The good:
-The Raven, The Legend, The Voyage, Zinga, ZoomBabwe, The Legend, The Raven, The Voyage, The Legend, The Raven (repeat 7 more times, because they're that good!)
-friendly staff
-great ride maintenance (those woodies are smoother than others that are half as old)
-incredible guest service
-free parking, drinks, sunscreen, and water park entry
-great prices on merchandise ($10 for a t-shirt versus $20 at SFGA)
-clean
-crowds... what crowds?

The bad:
-I have to drive 400 miles to get there

Hmm... $98 to ride a few good coasters at Six Flags, or $28 to have the time of my life at Holiday World? Yeah, take that you money-mongering corporate punks.

Word up

thats about the most true thing I've heard all day

hehe I don't pay anything but maybe some subway at SFA cuz if I have a season pass, I don't pay entry and usually the person driving isn't going into the park so we just tell em we're dropping off or I take the bus. Also, its required by law that you get a free cup of water at theme parks and other stuff so I don't buy any drinks. And who actually plays the games? they're scams and coasters are better

I play some of the games that I have chances at. Its like going into a Casino. You need to weigh out the odds on a given game. Some are easier than others.

^ like poker, I watched this thing on Travel Channel about gambling secrets and they listed the games where you have the best odds at, and Poker was the top one, because slightly more control over your fate then say slots.

I believe the lowest percentage to the House is Blackjack. Poker is second or third. Most card games favor the house by only 2-5% where Slots and other games favor up to 10%.

I havent even legally gambled yet. Dang Travel Channel.

^I was there over July 4th weekend...probably the busiest of the season and still rode Raven like 6 times and Legend 5 AND hit the water park all in the same day.

I even got the last ride of the night on Raven in the back seat (heavenly).

i did some research... i now know who snyder is... we're screwed... this guy has been in the proffesional football racket, he wants to draw the same kind of people football doesb by using the same tactics i mean look at these idiots who spend shitloads of money on overpriced sports team merchandise, and to top it off they're PROUD of it, and call the team US or WE .. their too stupid to realize that they've been duped by the establishment , and the owner of said team owns them.. not the other way around. . that'll explain the increase in prices on everything. proffesional football teeams have been screwing over american cities liike nobodies business lately, and here in sandiego i feel like they're getting ready to tie my wrists to my ankles , just like the baseball team did in '98.these greedy sports meatheads care about nothing more than money... now it's entered the inner sanctum of my leisure life again F*ck F*ckF*ckF*ckF*ck...

I would like nothing more than to beat the people the stock holders who forced the old management out. At least with the old management, besides making a ton of money, they had some concentration on the rides, and what we like, but now everything is probably going to be sponsored, food will be hiked up, ect. And if it gets just to be to much, I say we should boycott the Six Flags parks until things aren't as rediculous.
