For years now I have always wondered how Six Flags could call SFMM one of its premier flagship parks, when it looked like one of the dirtiest, sloppiest, worst kept parks in the Six Flags chain.
However, over the last year I have noticed that peoples opinions and thoughts on the park have begun to change, for the better. Photos and trip reports during the last little while have started to point out how more rides are operating, better operations etc. While it is still not perfect, I have definatly noticed a change without even visiting the park.

I'm curious to see what other people think, especially those who frequent the park.

In recent news, here are some things that are being improved on within the park (which is great!);

New markings on walkways, possibly for new paving?

Sky Tower reopening? Sky Tower and Tatsu are both now on the ride op punch cards, but no Flashback;

yeah its nice that they are finally doing something to this park. what i think they should do is in late feb., close the park for a week, and repaint EVERYTHING in the park, and then keep freshing up the paint every weekend or so after closing.

Yes, since new management tons of improvements are taking place. I think they will market the **** outa tatsu as well once its opened. This is a positive turn for MM finally.

I have to admit that the "no more Golioths" statement from the Six Flags brass combined with the steep price increases has me scared about the future of the parks. That said, could you imagine how amazing MM could be with service and full capacity operation like Cedar Point or the Busch Garden parks? I can only hope that these changes are a sign of a larger commitment that may actually make Six Flags reagain some of the glory it lost in the last decade.

^ the new plan the new Six Flags management has would help MM greatly. All that SFMM is lacking is family dark rides, and up to date quality flat ride, that and they need to redo thier bugs bunny land, to cluttered.

From what I have heard (only rumors), the new Six Flags management plans to run SFMM full capacity i.e. all train in use on all rides and operators who run the rides properly for all trains over the summer at least, yet another good move forward for SFMM. These improvements for railings etc are great to see as well, hopefully they will continue improving SFMM after these changes are made, and, if we're lucky, maybe Flashback will be replaced with a new rocket coaster or an interesting dark ride. [:D]
