Some people probably still my remember my extreme long Vertical Extreme. One of the biggest projects i ever had worked on. The ride was pretty good and it had tons of supports, the full ride took 3-4 months to actually finish the whole project.

Now 2 years later i want to redo the whole project, with more building experience and of cource with all the new NL1.5 features I should be able to build a 2nd version better [:)] On that way started the project.

Since yesterday I started on the ride. Now there the classic huge 150m tower standing plus the 2nd classic element, dive loop on 110m height. From there i'm going to build a whole different layout, but eventually way more thrills [:)] Also this time i'm going to leave the extreme length and use a decent length.

I've got one screen for you people to show:

I hope you people like the plans and of cource i'll keep you people updated [:)]

i hate emails, so:

Vertical Extreme Beta-Test

Well, im not sure if i can summarize my thoughts as a whole on this ride, but ill give you a detailed analysis on the trackwork that has been done so far.

Ok, the whole beginning of the track, personally i hate it. seems too unrealistic. instead of a launch into a chain that goes over the edge, i would do this: launch into a tophat. have the launch slightly below 90*, i would have the launch at 80 or so. the top hat then, the have the 90 degree vertical drop. it would be more thrilling, in atleast my opinion to start off the ride this way.

the immelman has some problems in it, first off, it isnt smooth. there is a vertex as where the track has a bump. that isnt good. the enterance into the inversion is well exectued, and reminds me of storm runner. the drop down after the immelman also has a vertex that isnt smooth. that, and all vertices need to become smooth, and flow well. basically what i am trying to say is that you need to smooth the vertices throughtout the track. you dont use alot of control points, and alot of them dont flow great into each other. i would suggest highly i might add, to ahg the whole thing before you support this. it would help BT greatly if you can smooth the vertices first.

overbank is fun. very fun, better than MF's. the dive down towards the next element is badass too. it seems like it would be realsitc to have that portion in a real roller coaster. the next element, the airtime hill thing, the overall idea of it is alright. but the execution of it isnt the highest of quality. i would enjoy it more if it was smooth, but it aint as smooth as i know i can be. the dive down then going into the inverting overbank is fun, and would provide a great headchopper to the track below it.

the inverting overbank is well, ALOT better than it would be if it wasnt inverting. would seem boring if it wasnt an inversion. the dive down from the element is great. it has a headchopper above it, and track next to it. great layout there. the turn into the mcbr is well executed, leads enough of a leadin for the mcbr, and doesnt have the classic b&M feel where it doesnt have much of an leadin. i like the leadin you provided alot more than waht is on real coasters.

overall, the first half of the ride, i would rate it for bt, 6.5, mainly b/c of the launch, i HATE that, and for the arlight track, that needs to get smoother. and for the originality of it i would rate it as an 8. very original layout. isnt like spread out, and is as compact imho a ride of this side could get.

for ideas for the second half, i would include, a corkscrew over and over a(n) elment(s). that would be sick imo. also i would like an airtime hill possibly over a section of track, as where it would create a very close call for anything underneath the track. i hope you change the launch thing, i literally, HATE that. and the track does need to be a bit smother than what it is currently. id also ahg it too, that helps get rid of banking issues, and can make your track more intaminfeelingisticnessish.

dont be shy to IM me if youve got a question dirk, im always glad to help ya out. later.
-ryan.

yep dirk is 100% anti tool i think its good though it shows that you dont have to use tools to make a good coaster

it makes great tracks better, whats not to like? i think it is silly not to improve a track if you can.

not to turn this into a tool debate, but i just think its silly not to use em, to each his own though.

well ragan, i know that alot of the track wasn't smoothed yet. Just a simple layout done in 2 evenings. The first test was mainly about g-forces and the layout. Also i noticed more people didn't liked the chain at the top. If i would launch it now, the g's would defenatly be -9g on the top and the middle cars would get 0.8. I can move the ride still so I can increase the radius at the top. But i'll probably leave the launch angle at exact 90 degrees [:)]

About the tool stuff. Like josh said, i'm anti tool. So i'd rather build a little longer on a good heartline and smooth so I can apply it with same quality on the next coasters. Or do a few clicks, insert element and have a heartline that ruins your track.

also if all tests arn't in by the end of the week, i'll throw you you out the testing. Since then you are only taking advantage of having a ride sooner then everyone else... Or you should give a good reason why you can't give a review. It sounds hars but testers are there for constructive help, not just only for fun. [;)]

Anyway, a new testing period will probably come in 2-3 weeks again. When i have applied some small smoothing and better heartlining. Also i'll edit the first part so a little more fun thing. [:)]
