What do you think that B+M's next biiiig project should be?[:D]

Personally i think they should develop a flying coaster with a verticle launch. This will give the same sensation as a shot tower on the launch and the same elements and features as 'Tatsu'.

The trains should be arranged with 3 rows of eight seats.

Please share you opiinions.
Thanks for your time.

B&M is currently working on a 4D concept similar to S&S's. I have heard as early as 2008 we will see the first one in operation, most likely at one of the Busch parks according to some of the inside info I have seen posted. I was told that the 4D in Japan was sent to B&M for a bid as well, but B&M passed as they are still perfecting their own unique system to move the seats as opposed to a third or fourth rail like S&S. Sounds promising.[approve]

B&M has said they don't want to be in the launched coaster business, so your wish is most likely not going to come true.[V]
Remeber that The Hulk coaster used an in house developed launch system that B&M had nothing to do with.

I think they should continue on the path that they are currently headed. Fun, reliable rides.

I agree with FN, but I wonder what their reasons are for not wanting to build launch rides? Other than perhaps the whole reliability thing.

I think it has something to do with what they think a ride should be. IMO launch coasters are about speed and height thats what usually brings people to ride them. All of B&M have a flowing, art like presense and prestige about em. They are unique for their track that has a very distinct sound, and they want to be known for making trusted and working rides.

How many topics complain about Vekoma, Arrow, or Intamin rides for whatever reasons. There arn't a whole lot bad-mouthing B&M. They probably take great pride in what they do.

"There arn't a whole lot bad-mouthing B&M" [lol] you want to read more ...

Perhaps not so much lately, but I remember loads of posts about how B&Ms are never original, and how they have no g's and how they aren't fast paced etc etc ...

And for me, Launched coaster are more about the launch itself, more than the height and speed, with quite a few of the rockets, you do get a little bit of an impression that the ride after the launch is just to get the train back to the station so it can be launched again [lol]. The lanuch on a rocket coaster, is for me, the best coaster related feeling of all ... so ... yeah, I certainly wouldn't mind B&M venturing into more launched rides.

It was widely reported after last year's trade show in Atlanta. My contact at S&S (I sell them electrical control products) said a few customers said that B&M pitched them the concept and said they already have some interested prospects for the concept. He declined to say which park owners it was pitched to but he did say that Busch is in the market for something unique for Williamsburg. S&S has tried to get into Busch for years and obviously Busch has a really great relationship with B&M. You are welcome to connect the dots at any point.[approve]

^^ i knew it

The BGW Three-Some

i heard somewhere that they made a deal with B&M for 3 coasters

anyways, as i posted on another topic, a friend who happens to be a mechanic, says he heard it will be an "Straight up and Straight down" roller coaster.

If it happends to be a B&M 4D, it will infact be in 2007, because another contact i have is an engineer for Henderson Inc. which happens to be the firm that helped build Apollo's Chariot, he said that they have a big progect at BGW in 2007, so keep your hopes up!

My own personal disclaimer:
Not by any means is this a fact, it is only what i have heard from respectable people and what i choose to share.

^Also agreed with FN. You can always depend on B&M for a fun and reliable ride. I hope they develop a very reliable 4d coaster.

Right now, B&M are trying to make all types of existing steel coasters and more so they can own the market, and they have the people to do it to. Some of the best engineers work for B&M, they can make a good steel coaster, so any coaster type thats not made by Werner Stengel, B&M can master, and then they will be the only company to sell that particular type because they are the best at it, and they make lots of money, wouldnt any company do that?

gouldy, complaining about g's and originality from the select few coaster enthusiasts as compared to the average joe who loves it no matter what, is little concern next to their reputation for reliability and capacity.

Only we care about designs, g's, and whether the coaster is a clone of another ride or not. yeah they do have a very cookie cutter way of building their rides...but their good at it and regardless the ride is always fun.

BGW must be gettin some new B&Ms because of how much they've sold recently and how much land they have unused.

^^^ In my newsletter it confirmed no actuall statement to what the ride will actually be. Although gruelling hours of communication between Thorpe and B+M they have not reached a confirmation.
But sometimes them newsletters are full of rumors so it could go either way this early in the development.

The launched floorless coaster. That would be something really new and original.

^Highly unlikely.

On that note, I like the road B&M is taking. While everybody is pushing the limits and really not getting anywhere, B&M are sitting back and pumpin' out the same ol' goodness they always have. I'd ride a small, compact, B&M over a TTD or KindaKa any day. Sure, the g-forces aren't the most insane. But it's a comfortable, exhilerating ride. Always. Garunteed.
