Sure, Cataclysm is a wicked coaster. Sure, it seems insane. Well, guess what? You aint seen nothing yet! If Cataclysm is an insane coaster, then The Rockler 2 is the ultimate coaster.

This is my most ambitious coaster project to date. Cataclysm took me about 4 weeks to build... The Rockler 2 has been in production for 16 MONTHS! Ever since I posted the original Rockler, I knew I needed to make a better version of it. 3 months later, I begen reconstructing the entire coaster, start to finish.

Up to the beginning of this summer, I retracked the entire first half and added the wicked double helix into the mix. Then, this past summer, I was inspired by my trip to Holiday World. I realized that the key to a great coaster is a big finale. Upon arriving at Mercer for college, I put this new knowledge to use, and completely re-invented The Rockler, and now the result is my best coaster ever.

You would assume the highlight of this ride is the 325 ft drop, but it really isn't... the drop is intense, but the ride finale is just absolute insanity! The finale consists of 2 airtime hills followed by a sharp turn up the mountainside. Unexpectedly, the train whips you underground, into an intense diving right-left turn, up over the top of an airtime-filled banking transition to the right. The train flies back up from the tunnel, and into an intense elevated turn, followed by a high lateral g ground turn, 3 hills with wonderful airtime, another intense 4-g ground turn, and a double-up with even more wonderful airtime into the brakes. You get off the ride saying "WOW! That was INSANE!" A piece of coaster art if I do say so myself. The whole ride has a total of 28 seconds of airtime, spread out through the entire ride, but especially in the beginning and end.

Well, here are some new screenshots that highlight all the features of the ride I just spoke of. Enjoy them, and don't forget to check out The Rockler 2... coming to WWS.com in only two weeks. (release date: Sunday, October 31 2004)

Oh, and I am still looking for test riders. Any takers? I will donate 200 points to the first person that gives me some feedback on the ride. Leave your e-mail and I will send it out.

I dunno, it seems that there needs to e more support work based on some of the turns in the pics. They look as if the supports wouldn't hold up much in real life [:p]

These supports are all auto-supports. I just put them on so that it wouldn't look stupid in the screenshots. (Thank you, NL team for the auto-support terrain bug.) I actually haven't done any support work yet. Just to clarify...

This project is on hold. I just started using a new vertex placement strategy, and now looking back at this coaster I am doubting if I have the patience to do all the modifications that need to be made. There are so many imperfections that I would get bashed for, it's not even funny. Plus, I am looking at a good 100 hours of support work, because of the stupid terrain bug. I'll pick it back up eventually, but right now I'm sticking to the Adrenaline Land coasters. Even after nearly 3 years of work, this coaster just isn't getting any closer to being done. The one plus to this ride right now is that the adrenaline is by far the highest on any coaster I have ever done. I SOOOO want this coaster to get done so that I can post it, but it just gets harder and harder each time I go back and work on it.

EElover2, I'd be glad to send you the track, but don't expect it to be posted any time in the near future.

Dude, on hold means he's not doing anything to it, which means he doesn't need testers.

EElover2, it's sent.

For everyone else reading this, I have set up my priority list of coaster projects, and here is the sucsession. I believe that if I could just square away the technical side of this coaster, it would be one for the history books, so I'm not going to completely abandon it. Anyway, here is my coaster priority list right now.

1. Hydro Thunder (Giga in post-production phase. Will be posted within a week)
2. Cyclone (Small classic woodie project that just needs supports. Should be posted in 3 weeks to a month.)
3. Lava Blast (Incredible lava-spewing Strata project, halfway through trackwork. Should be posted in about 2 months, with some previews not that far off.)
4. Hyper 'X' (Experimental hyper that I am making to test out my new 4-vertex hill structure. So far it is absolutely awesome, so it might be done before or after the previous 2... it depends if the inspiration continues.)

5. THE ROCKLER 2
I have decided not to scrap it, mainly because of my recent trackworking success on Hydro Thunder and Hyper X, but I am putting it off for a while. Check back in a few months, and I'll update on how it is going. If everyone is really looking forward to me finishing this coaster, though, I'll put it higher on my priority list. Test riders? Do you all think that it is still worth trying to finalize and post?

So, basically, I'm saying that I won't be doing any more work on it for quite some time, but I'm still open
