I have all thier CD's except for thier greatest hits. (Who needs it when you already have all the song? If I want a compilation of it, I can just rip it myself)
Anyways, I'm not obsessed with them, But I think they're pretty good.

Oh man, all i have to say is you are most likely about to see your favorite band get ripped apart. I have to admit though, i think everyone has a special place in their heart for dookie.

Ughhh, There are only like 5 REAL Greenday fans on the planet... Everyone else who doesent have an opinion on music just says "oh yea greenday, I like them" Cus thats what everyone says they like. Its SUCCHHH a followers band, I hate when mainstream bands are like that.

Yea, all i have to say is even if that is your favorite band out there, there is always some struggling band with way more talent and better sound but still the same genre but just not cutting it. A cool new thing i found to discover some good music is this site... www.pandora.com . Go check it out.

- pandora.com isnt the band Pandora's web site, it has nothing to do with that band. -

I'm still a fan of their old stuff, but the new greenday just...I'm not feelin it. It seems everyone's opinion on their music (or music in general) is largely driven by popularity, just not many people are true to music these days.

^ Or they are true fans of the music, but people just say they aren't. If you enjoy it, then you just simply enjoy it. Whether its popular or not doesn't matter, all that's matter is that you like it for whatever reason.

oh god, how i adore that cd. i like green day, not obsessed, i am obsessed with blink. lol. for me though, my green day cd order goes:

dookie
insomniac
american idiot
nimrod
warning

so basically, they started out with the greats, then slowly declinded in quality over the years until american idiot.

dude, you are wierd. lol. i bet you dont even realize how much green day has copied/ripped off blink-182. and vice versa, if you or your sister was truely obsessed with one of these bands, you would know this.

here are some facts for ya.

2000, blink releases "mark, tom, travis show - the enema strikes back". this is a LIVE concert of blink, with extras and what not with all of their hits.

2001, green day releases a "best of" album, that has all of their current hits on it. this cd also has 3 main, destinct colors in it.

2001, blink releases TOYPAJ, it has 3 destinct colors in it.

2003, blink reforms themselves, into a new breed of music.

2004, green day reforms themselves, into a new breed of music.

2005, blink releases a greatest hits cd

2005, green day releases a live concert of themselves, with all of their hits.

kinda wierd, kinda not, but blink and green day have been entwined within each other ever since blink got hot, and since that happened, up until AI, green day was not. they even toured with each other in 2001. there sis some histroy for ya'll, doesnt have a point, but, yeah, there ya go. lol.

edit, rrollergod, no offense, but i personally have just put you into a group of people that i disgust. honestly you couldnt of said that worser for your cause. dont say "screw green day, go onto ITUNES and search sugarcult". say, i hate green day, listen to sugarcult" or green day sucks, sugarcult rocks" say sometihng that, doesnt make you seem so, well, trend following.

sorry to sound like an ass, i truely im, but i honsetly cant stand it when people say something like what you just did.

"American Idiot", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Holiday", "Wake Me up When September Ends", and "Time of Your Life" are definitely on my playlists, but I can't say I really follow individual bands too much. So, I like their music but I'm not really a big fan.

I almost went to the pop disaster tour, except my parents did not care for Blinks music one bit. ANd it made me sad because at the time Greenday & Blink WERE my favorite groups.

Erm yeah, Green Day are really quite awful in my opinion. I think i might be the first person to say that, but whatever.

Looking at pre-American Idiot, its all highly immature, and musically it's all the same, as is most american punk actually. The progression to American Idiot, what with them making a conscious decision to be political, highlights a distinct lack of artistic merit, especially when compared with other albums. From the top of my head, Incubus's ACLOTM sits out. Whether or not you are a fan of Incubus (incidentally i am), one cannot deny the skill behind the construction of their music, and songs such as "megalomaniac", containing multiple possible interpretations and creating controversy, are far better examples of political music. "American Idiot", to me, sounds very gimmicky, and like it's trying to be funny, and it just doesn't work.

Other than that, i think the music they create is dull and unoriginal, and their lyrics are slightly juvenile. You don't have to agree with me, but no amount of complaining about my points will change my mind (just to let you know).

Having said all that, the drummer is pretty good.

I dont like Green Day, like someone said there to much of a "followers" band so everbody thinks there so cool listing to it. And yea all the songs sound the same anyways. The jus try to be some big emo people when there not even close hehe.

A little ironic that I'm listening to them at the moment. They're all right, I like some of their songs, but some are a little bit repetative. Not a bad waste of time in my opinion.

Green day, i only like one of their recent songs and thats jesus of surburbia. BUT i have none of their music on my computer as i prefer to listen to bands that dont get taken over by chavvy arseholes! Green day are ok, i admit that, i just dont like how chavs like them cos they are popular.

Anyway i would much prefer to listen to better bands, Hawthorne heights (i love them to DEATH (haha emo, just had to do that), Underoath, From first to last. I like these types of bands os they dont get overplayed and i wll never get tired of them. I love PANIC!at the disco, but it look like they are going to be taken over by chavs too! If they are im going to cry! I love them, some of their music is genius! I just hope people pass them by cos arctic monkeys are in the way (who are absolutely crap!!!!!!!!!!!!) lol. Anyway.......

"American Idiot", to me, sounds very gimmicky, and like it's trying to be funny, and it just doesn't work.

I kind of agree with you there, American idiot isnt very clever, its just 2 words stuck together, with only 1 interpretation. I like songs where they can mean so many different things to you. [:)]
