Yep, in manchester. One of the biggest gigs in europe. Im going on the 30th, we did want to see angels and airwaves, lost prophets and taking back sunday, who are playing on the 29th, but tbh i dont like the other bands that much. The headlining band when we are there is My chemical romance, i heard they were crap live though. I do love a couple of their songs though, "Its not a fashion statement its a deathwish" is amazing, and the start of "You know what they do to guys like us in prison" is pretty cool, and then the end just goes crazy [:D] Then the other bands playing when im there are people like:
- Underoath (YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [:D])
- PANIC! at the disco (YAY again, anyone heard their album, awesome, a little short, but amazing)
- The ataris
- The bled
- Atreyu (yuck, hate them, sorry)

Theres quite a few more bands playing aswell, like men women and children, randomers like that. Drive by are playing aswell, along with other bands such as taint. I havent heard anything by them though.

Anyway i wish i was going both days, but i already spent ?????????72 on my tickets, and cant afford anymore.

Yeah i know what you mean. My friend actually begged me to go on the 29th instead, but, i wanted to go on the 30th more. And my other friend wants to see Atreyu and the bled and refused to go to a "pop concert" (referring to a certain man from blink, take no offence ragan) so thats how we ended up going on the 30th instead. Also we could get closer to the stage on the 30th, we are still pretty far back, but hoping to change that CROWD SURF haha The problem is the one im going to is an emo fest!

Woah, woah, arctic monkeys are not absolutely crap. The reason i can say this, having just ceremoniously(?) called green day awful is that they have artistic merit. Like it or not, the construction of the music is genius.

Also, Panic! are not going to be taken over by chavs. I'm not an emo fan (most of the bands jpe listed make me want to slit their wrists for them, just to get it over with so they'll shut the hell up), but you gotta love Panic! at the Disco. I write sins not tragedies came on in the club i was in yesterday and it was the third best thing ever (to the strokes "juicebox" and arctic monkeys "i bet you look good on the dancefloor")

Green Day are alright. I only like the Dookie album i'm afraid (yes, i'm one of those people). Dookie at the time was quite original and really spoke out at the time, i just generaly think it was a good album with good songs. American Idiot however i dislike, the whole imagine change is ridiculous. I dislike almost all bands where they wear makeup or masks. The old eyeliner trick on Billy Joe is just gay! (and not in a good way) That look like complete morons with makeup on and thier appearence alone puts me off thier new stuff.

Sorry carlosio, i just dont like arctic monkeys. They would make me want to slit my wrists more than hawthorne heights ever would, and i dont know why, i just have a dislike for them. [:P] Maybe if i listened to them more i would like them, it often takes me a while to like some bands.

I totally agree with you over panic! I think they are incredible, and one of the best bands ive heard in a long time. They've been top in the charts on purevolume.com for a while now! I was going to buy tickets to go see them in Nottingham (i live really near by) but decided im seeing them a few weeks after, whats the point. Anyway have you heard "The only difference between Martydom and suicide is press coverage"? Its an amazing song. Well actually all their songs are [:D]

Artic Monkeys are absolutly crap! They stole material from a local band here, a band called Tortion. Tortion did several gigs with them before they hit the mainstream and they stole riffs straight out of Tortions songs. Artic Monkeys are filthy theifs that couldnt write thier own songs for poop...i also hate Panic at the disco, the guys voice on the one song makes me want to take a lead pipe to his face, he cant sing at all, he sings through his noise producing a horrific sound. I hate all Indie and all Emo music to be quite honest

Hehe, yeah, i just had to work it in there somewhere. I play bass with a couple of guys, have been pretty much since i started playing a few years back. We've developed together and our musical style with it. Before you ask what style it is that we play, i can't really define it. I'd probably say alternative, because it's not heavy rock, but there is more to it than in most indie music. Up until now we've done a lot of home recording, using logic (if you're not familiar with it, its a computer based studio, so there's no need for a physical mixing desk) and a load of equipment that we own between us (microphones, stands, effects pedals etc.) We've got a few acoustic songs, which i've used my acoustic fretless bass for, and we're about to put together a full album's worth of electric material. It's going to be fun.

What do you like then, edge? I can't stand metal, or heavy rock in any shape or form, so i say each to his own.

Its kinda wierd how i've never even heard of the arctic monkeys before, but right now as im reading this about them they're peforming on Saturday Night Live. lol, i dont like them too much. When they perform they're so stiff..
