I have made many coasters in NL but how the hell do you find out the height?

Go to "Statistics" in the coaster menu. Then turn the auto scale off and make the length be as short as possible. That's how I do it.

in the editor there is this thing called the cursor. it tells you where your mouse is. so, if it says: x:60m,y:40m,z:0m
your coaster is 40 meters high, or Y value. there is also a grid in NL, you can do it manually too that way if you want.

Go to 'coaster' at the toolbar at the top, and go to statistics. Press X- as much as you can(and if you want y+ as much as you can) so you can read it easily.

Ragan's way is the most accurate, but if you want dead on accuracy, you can double click the node then look at how many feet high the y axis is.

^That can easily be remedied by changing the units in the editor to imperial in the preferences menu.

Ditto. I NEVER use stats. Except for length.
