Looks great! More detail is always fun, but lets hope we get some new coaster styles and maybe more station options as well for those of us not comfortable with the 3D's.

I doubt more station styles. Quite frankly, it wouldnt be hard for me now to create a bunch of default stations for present lengths.

Anyone interested?

I would start with most popular train styles and do the most normal sizes for them.

Intamin - 5 through 8 car.
B&M - 7 - 9 car.

And so on based on what I see from uploaders.

Yes, by that I mean 3ds.

Know that its just an idea. It would take quite a while and I would only hit the popular styles. Each station would have to be unique to each train and Id want each style for each train.

I would really love some realistic looking Catwalks, Supports and Stations in NL. I would much prefer an update just for that, rather than a new train style. Surely it wouldn't take too long to do

I know at one point Bino Maus was going to make 3d stations for everyone to use on the site. We where going to make a section to host them and allow members to download and use, but he disappeared and we never really had anyone willing to replace him

Simple stations are real easy to make, it wouldnt take long. Go real! [:D] Not that they would benefit me in any way, but alot of people would i reckon.

Anyway, the new cars and seats look awesome, and the brakes and stuff! I love them! Cant wait for the update!

Edge : Bino's not gone. His still pops onto msn from time to time, but with the release of his new software his time is taken up from making software Gui's. On the other hand, I would also make some stations for you. I actually modeled a pretty nice roller coaster shed. Modeled perfectly. Leave your email and I'll send you some renders.

I notice every update discussion, Edge keeps suggesting "Better Catwalks" I'm sure there going to do that this time.

I think jackfrahn started making stations as well for a few coasters, not sure if he ever finished them or not.

The new trains and brakes look awesome, I wonder if they will also include some magnetic brakes?

I expect Ole monitors my requests. He thinks 'theres that Edge, right, i will take off the list whatever he wants done just to piss him off'

But seriously, i couldnt care less for the trains or the track or the brakes or the lims. I just generaly want the Catwalks, stations, supports and what not doing. Just that tiny improvement would make the game 50x better imo. The catwalks on SM are awesome, NL's just suck complete balls!

I saw these screens this morning, and im pretty excited. I think its pretty cool to see those types of gears on Bnm coasters, as they make the ride more realistic. I don't have anything to say about the trains, but any upgrades are nice.

he doesn't come here anymore because he's too busy with his study. Kinda the same reason as GFA left. Too much work in the real life.

Quite frankly I think the catwalks are a minor detail. Of course, I can create them easily in 3d Max but I do understand they arent the most realistic part of NL.

Still, I think its a smaller detail they will get too later and they wish to get the larger stuff out of the way.

Why put off the bigger details when you can get them out of the way? Remember, the new 1.5 LOD system Ole created will be used in NL2 I believe. He spent alot of time recoding that section for a reason and thats why the trains are being remodeled.

Heck, if you want small details, I want bolts where each track peice connects to each other as well as extreme support detail but Id rather them get the large stuff out of the way first.

Also, remember, Spinning coasters were confirmed so that in and of itself is a track style like nothing else we will be used too.

NL 1.6 looks to be "The B&M Update" whereas 1.5 was "The Intamin Update".

Well, considering how B&M makes up most of the styles anyways...why not?

But I think they will reveal more secrets in the coming weeks that we wont be expecting.

Who knows, maybe catwalks will get redone and Edge will have to find something else to talk about :P

Post taken from CS from Ride_Op who is the modeler for NoLimits:

Modeling a catwalk is not the trouble. I could knock one out in about 10 minutes. Coding it into an existing engine to follow the curves/banks of user defined chainlift and brake segments is. Ole wants to focus his time and engine improvements for NL2. Upgrading trains and hardware models (which you are still all getting FOR FREE!) is mostly the Ride_Op and Phyter show, with some work from Ole to impliment the changes. NL2 will be designed with such things in mind from the beginning.

Looks like what I imagined was correct. Knock out the big things that he can just port to NL2 and fix those later.

Hey, the more train styles are updated the less work for NL2.
