Actually, i think it would be a good idea to put a 4D or a flyer, or maybe a floorless. They dont have any of those yet.

Maybe it could be a B&M dive machine. There's only 3 of those in the world, and having the view of Lake Erie would be breathtaking.

The latest blog entry shows a picture of a cement footer that has been poured: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun_on ... 52fc49ec72 The image URL has the letters "BT" in it... maybe that has something to do with the name of the new coaster?

A friend of mine posted on my site that he spotted 3 flatbeds of B&M track heading north of Columbus, Ohio (mile marker 145) on I-71 at 8:00 am yesterday. For those that don't know the area, CP is about 2.5 hrs North/Northwest of Columbus.

Most likely La Ronde's hyper or more pieces of the Intamin stand-up going to Darian Lake from Astroworld.

Well, I can tell you this. When I go get my season pass I will drive around the entire place and scope things out.

You know that the blog wont turn anything up because they know any little bit of actual evidence will be eaten up and digested to figure it out.

If I remember correctly I was there the day that they first posted about the Intamin track sitting by Mean Streak for TTD. I was so close to being the first :P

It's gotta be something awesome or groundbreaking, their last real installment of a roller coaster was 3 years ago, going to be 4 in 2007. I'd love another reason to go back to CP [:)]

As if being CEDAR POINT isn't reason enough to go!! lol. They should get dueling B&M flyers. They dont have any flyers OR duelers yet. It would be a sweet ride!!!

Except flyers arent that fun and they have HORRIBLE capacity.

Plus while duelers would increase capacity it would also mean you need a TON of space. Sure, it could go over alot of other attractions but for CP to install TWO very large rides like that would be an undertaking. Who knows, maybe thats why footers are being poored now?

I dont want flyers. I have never been impressed by the concepts. The thrill is more gimmicky than anything.

I've never been on any kind of dueling coaster or a good flyer. It would be cool if they put one in.

The fabricator of B&M track is in Batavia Ohio. Its about 45 mins east of Cincinatti on the Ohio river.

Me neither, even Tatsu doesn't look like it will be THAT much fun, and its basically pushing the flying coaster concept to the limit, IMO. I don't know what CP will get, but I'm kind of hoping its not a 4D or a flyer, otherwise it will just feel like to much of a rip off of SFMM, or at least to me anyways. Like they couldn't come up with something better so they had to use the same ideas as SFMM.

It'd be a rip off to the 5% who care, if they built a clone. So is CP also not allowed to build a floorless becuase of Scream?

Is the 4d in Japan unoriginal becuase SFMM built one?
How do you expect companies to make money off their rides if they don't clone anything. Most major coaster companies have built clones of rides. Its just the way the buisness works.

Yea, they should be able to build kinds of coasters that other parks have...but i do just think of kk as a complete clone of ttd.

^its not a clone. What else can you do when you want the height and speed record?

KK was in development I believe just shortly after TTD had broken ground so its not like they saw TTD and said "hey! We want that!". Of course Intamin knew but it wasnt that simple.

That program they ran on the National Geographic on Kingda Ka made it sound as if they had been planning it a hydrualic, saw TTD and decided to out-do it. CP just didn't realize anyone was actually planning on building such a tall and similar coaster as soon as it was. I wasn't expecting a coaster of that height and speed to have been built for a few years. Heck I thought all the mechanical issues Dragsta was having might have scared a few off.

Well, that doesnt suprise me if they did. No matter the case, its not like TTD came out then they made the choice. People act like these rides can be decided, planned and built in less than a years time but thats so far from the truth. Especially anything custom or new it takes minimum like 2 years. MF was 3 and I heard TTD bordered on 4 from concept to opening day.

Since this propably is something big it has porpably been in planning for a few years. But a coaster like Thunderhead took 11months from Dollywood asked GCI until it was finished. Tusenfryd "ordered" Speed Monster about march last year, and now it is ready for testing. So it doesn't have to take that long, although it propably has in this case.
Coaster count: 153
Moving to Singapore in july!

With CP's limited space they'd probably want to plan ahead as much as possible and consider every possible varible, good or bad... I still say it'll be a Tallest, Fastest, 12 Inversion Floorless Coaster.

I actually did some 'Calculating' and if it were a Tallest, Fastest, 12 Inversion floorless coaster, it'd have to be over 180 feet tall, and it'd go about 113 - 120 KPH... closer to 120... They might even be able to fit 14 Inversions in there but the layout would be really cramped.

Meh, I doubt I'm anywhere close to being right...
