re: Two highest-rated tracks are DQ'd.

WOO HOO! If they were the two highest rated ones, then I know they WEREN'T MINE!!! I was tripping out a little on the number of DQ coasters, but if they were mostly some of the better ones, then I'm fairly safe.

I'm gonna stay up past midnight to see if I made it to round two, even though I gotta work tomorrow.

Maybe I'll dream up a good layout once I see the template!

Well, I just doubled checked mine and don't see any reason it would be DQed so, I'm happy ;)

I wonder what was so tricky that is making so many tracks DQ?

I think it might be the issue of the station staying in the box in the sim.... since it's the only requirement that you wouldn't notice in the editor.

Possibly the second-most common error is the 20ft rule over the road. That one could be tricky to see.

Going outside the lines with the track? Geez, that's fairly easy to notice, even in the editor.

from the rules page: - Support fundaments may not be placed between the blue lines, unless they are in the narrow area between the purple lines. (the purple lines represent the road's median, and are therefore open)

Here's a poser: there was one track with a tunnel over the road and supports placed on the tunnel. While this follows the "spirit" of the rules (no supports in the way of traffic), it doesn't follow the "letter" of the rules (no support FUNDAMENTS between the blue lines). True, the supports are above 20ft, but there was no height rule for support fundaments. It simply says they can't be between the blue lines.

It'll be interesting to see if that was one of the DQs. Myself, I'd let it slide. The point was not to impede traffic, and that was clearly done. But I could see the argument for DQing it, since it clearly put fundaments in a place they weren't allowed to be.

I remember that track. I think it was one of the higher rates ones, and if it gets DQd then that would really suck for that person.

One of them might be me on the 20 foot rule. But if you zoom in really really far, you can see my track is at 20.01!

minicooper, that's not it. That was just a tunnel, not a fundament. By fundaments, I meant the concrete blocks that link a coaster's supports to the ground. The tunnel idea was just fine, since it only touched the ground outside of the road area.

1st DQ: supports too low on road
2nd DQ: supports too low on road, track out of bounds, station out of bounds
3rd DQ: supports too low on road, track out of bounds, track to low on road
4th DQ: coaster over 250 ft tall
5th DQ: terrain modified below road
6th DQ: supports too low on road
7th DQ: too many lifts/launches

That's my list of shame so far. Hopefully it will stop there.

By the way, I currently have 22 tracks rated. 12 to go, and 5 hours left to do them. I wouldn't stay up too late, people, because there's a good chance that the ratings won't be posted until very late. (I'm looking at about 3am or so). Also, WWS still hasn't posted the Round 2 template (hint, hint...), so there is no gurantee that the second round will begin tonight either. Whenever it does start, the build time will still be exactly 11 days.

So im guessing Round 2 won't start until then. Thanks for the heads up. I can go to sleep normally now.

If my track was DQd because of a support on the road, its not on the road!! I just zoomed in really close and its right on the edge.

"2nd DQ: supports too low on road, track out of bounds, station out of bounds"

Sounds like mine.

I don't know how CJ will rule this, but if the support is wide enough, it can show clear in the editor but technically still go over the road in the simulator.

I meen that in the simulator, the fundament is right on the edge of the road. Its not actually on the road.

By that I should be fine. In the rules it states they can't go in between the blue lines under 20 feet. In the sim there are no blue lines. So if it passes in the editor like it does, I should be ok.

Well, technically the spine goes under 20ft. but it shouldn't matter... I wouldn't care... I just hope my track isn't the one that went over 250ft. because I really put it as tall as I could, but I checked and it's only at 75 meters, but the hearline goes above 76 meters...

I think I might be DQ for supports under 20ft at the highway because one support cuts into the boundries by a half-meter...

^the height requirements refer to the height from the track's running rails to the ground.

Also, chiil out everyone. Usually, if stuff is really close, I let it go. You're not gonna get disqualified if half-an-inch of something is out of place. All of the disqualifications so far were really obvious. As far as the support issue goes, I'm judging based off of the view in the editor. I am letting a lot slide there, since I found that most road overpasses are about 16 feet tall, not 20. I'm almost sorry that I leaked the information out... you're all going crazy now. lol.

Anyway, I'm up to rating number 24. 10 left. I still haven't recieved the contest template link, and I still have to do my homework for tomorrow, so it looks like the next round is going to be pushed back another day.
