i do not think that the brakes will take speed, i think it is more of a trim the regulates the train. When the train isn't fully loaded (which will happen 1st time after 20 months) the train goes faster than at full load, and creating higher G's, therefor the trim will be the speed trought the pretzel as much as at full load, but you barely will notice the difference

if the speed in the pretzel was to high, they'd build it different

Actually from my experience loaded trains run harder and faster than unloaded trains. While weight creates more friction, the way they are designed these days the weight only adds to the speed and more importantly, the momentum.

Why else do they use dummies to test and in some cases, sand bags and weights for coasters with not enough people?

And you think a Knex coaster, is an accurate representation of the way forces act upon a real coaster do you?

^the physics stay the same, it's all a train going down a track, the higher the weight, the higher the friction, the lower the speed

The physics involved are not the same though are they, for example, as rides get smaller, loops can be much rounder in shape without there being any bad g's. That's just an example to show you that the smaller the ride gets, themore differently forces act on it, if you were to then miniturize the cars as well at the track to such a small size as a K'nex coaster, you can see how the physics are completely different to the way physics are applied to a life size coaster. Ever noticed that it takes like half a second for a car on your K'nex coaster to fall to the bottom of the drop? Where as if that happened on a real coaster, all the occupents would be dead [lol]

Wow, that was fast. But not as fast as Goliath's construction team.

And hyyyper, I bet the track to train weight ratio on Knex coasters is way different from real coasters.

Hopefully they get that 0g up this week.

Oh look...a trim at the BASE of the Pretzel. Isnt the stupidest place for one? Why not brake the train at the top where its already slow and then let us have uninterupted g's at the bottom?

I dont know, plus it seems rather odd to place it there. Like you could valley it if the conditions were right. I dont know if I buy the "Its here incase it valleys" deal. Whats the worst that could happen - you rock back and forth on your back? Seriously, while the sun would suck, if it were a cloudy day that might put you to sleep!

still, awesome looking ride. It alone makes me maybe think about a Cali trip.

Its probably Six Flags being worried about it since Deja Vu does it alot. But still it would be a uncomfortable pain in the ass to get stuck there.

^That sucks. You aren't the first person that I have talked to tonight that can't access any part of the website. It is quite a good update too.
