Aww nuts! That sounds like he went back and rated mine more harshly the second time.
I'm DOOMED! Doomed, I tell ya!

Hehe, just take your time. I like it better to wait a long time and have fair competition [:)]

Good News...

I just got the contest template link. Round 2 will start tonight between 12:00 and 1:00 am. (or tomorrow morning, if you want to get technical...)

I've got my chores for the day done, so I'm going on a straight shot to get the last 9 ratings done. I'll post them some time tonight, and the second round will begin shortly thereafter.

Good luck to everyone!

hyyyper, you were not disqualified. E-stop is a completely separate test from the runs through looking for disqualifications and judging adrenaline, and it does not affect your scores in any way unless there is an e-stop failure. In the entire contest, only one preson was disqualified beacuse their brakes sped the train up.

Was I disqualified? I hope not. I'm worried about something I did to fix a bug in Nl.

Actually, it was the opposite. Your coaster got a great adrenaline score, snd I said "Wait... this was good, but was it really 4 points better than another track from the beginning?", so I went back, looked, and realized that the earlier coasters which I had given rather low adrenaline ratings weren't really all that bad. So, I went back over every track to determine if the adrenaline scores should be higher. I didn't lower your score.

Chill out, guys, you're all going disqualification crazy. In the last 7 ratings I have done, all of the tracks were legal.

Raising the height of the terrain as a whole was legal. As long as it stays flat, raising it is not technically modifying it.

So Matt, I'm guessing you raised everything to make room for tunnels?

Theres no tunnels in my ride. Anyway, it was the bug where the water would come to the same level and cause the land not to be visible so I raised it all a tincy bit.

Regards.

All I care is for me to make it to round 2, and I don't care if I make it by a hair's difference. I just want to show I don't completely suck at track building.

Quick update:

I have reversed my decision on a previous disqualification... there was one track that was going to be disqualified for modifying the terrain below the blue line (there was a lake under the station), but I decided that due to the reason the rule was created, terrain modification was not a ground for disqualification. Instead, the terrain was merely flattened and the designer took a deduction for the track hitting it.

The reason the "no terrain modification" rule was there is because the template was supposed to be in a flat park setting, with the terrain not allowed to be modified because it was covered by other rides and paths. My reasoning about not being grounds for disqualification is that the terrain is physically unable to be modified IRL, and therefore any terrain work in the park area is invalid and should therefore be simply deleted.

Terrain does not give anyone an unfair advantage, where as the rules with the boundaries, road clearance, height, and train specs do.

If you agree or disagree, reply and let me know. I believe that this is a much better solution, rather than disqualifying someone over something so trivial.

Agreed. Plus, it's too early in the comp. to be DQ-ANAL. Let em go on to the next round and lose there.

I'd say it would depend on the extent of the modication. After all, parks (good ones at least) do landscaping around the stations all the time.

Update:

I just finished my 30th rating, which leaves 4 more. Once the ratings are done, I have to settle a couple of ties, determine the final rankings for Round 1, and then figure out the pairings for round 2.

Right now, I'm looking at having the ratings up at around 2 am, and the second round beginning at about 2:30 am.

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in for a quick update. Back to work...

2 ratings left...

Still looking at about 2:30 for the start of Round 2. It will run from then until next Saturdat night, for the full 11 days. I will take 2 days to judge, then it's on to Round 3. another 11 days, then 2 days to judge and on to round 4. 1-2 days to judge, and that's a wrap.

DONE! Now I just have to compile them, and figure out the pairings. The results should be posted within the hour, and the next round will be posted immediately after.
