This is my latest SM coaster, the speed of light. The name really describes it. It goes at the speed of 182 Miles per Hour and it reaches an exact height of 648 feet. Tune in here to see the latest pictures and updates of this monster here!

Image
This is a preview of the launch. Guests here wait 15 seconds till they get launched to 182 MPH in 2 SECONDS with the hydraulic launch!

Image
Here the train is at the official 182 MPH speed!

Image
Here the train is nearing up the top hat. It is at the half heartline!

A closer look at the massive top hat.

Above the tophat where guests slowly go over it!

What goes up, must come down!

And our last pic of the day, another top hat screen!

Stay tuned for more pics and updates!

If only SM had a better editor, I think it would own NL ...

looks good, even though I don't have SM lol. Hope it's at least sorta realistic :P

I really dont think that going from 0-182 in 2 seconds is safe.

John FOrce went 333.58 in 4.665 in a Funny car. You will go (the equivalent) of 424.515 in the same time that he went. Thats almost 100mph faster!!

There are serious dangers to accelerations that quickly. You can tear the retina in the back of your eye wide open and your eye will get sucked back into that cavity. Its a life long problem that isnt fixed 100% meaning your vision will be screwed in that eye(s).

Lol..I guess it's too intense. It isn't real so I guess it won't hurt anyone. Now if it was real, it'd be a problem. You can't control the power of the lift hill in SM so it goes at it's own rate. I wish I could make it go at a slower rate.

The launch is controllable...and that nears dodonpa speeds, which I would consider to be the limit. NL is imo has a way harder to use editor, but much more precise. SM is much more practical imo, but doesn't give the added realism. Can't wait for SM2...

Yeah. I think your calculation wrong. Here's how I found out the height.

Ok so I took KK's at SFGA and put it over the height:

So..

128 MPH
456 Feet

Then I took me coaster's speed and did the same thing,

182 MPH
?

What I did next is Divide 182 by 128 and I got 1.421875

I multiplied 1.421875 by 256 feet and got 648 feet

I calculated your coaster and I got 534 feet.

I took your Speed and KK's speed and got 1.171875 and multiplied KK's height by the quotient and got 534 feet.

^the world of virtual sims is not perfect... my new strata coaster goes up to 480 feet, while only launching to 124 mph. Simulator physics don't factor in the extreme wind resistance encountered at over 100 mph.

those supports really do rather suck...

...I doubt they would be very effective when you consider how much more support....idge there is on both the KK and TTD top hats, even though this coaster is supposed to be hundreds of feet taller than both of them. It just doesn't go does it? [lol]

Speed is not relative to height traveled. Period.

Also you can too control every aspect of the lift, launch etc. I never had an issue with selecting speeds, launch times and intensities.

Just because one coaster is this high and has this speed, doesn't mean that the next coaster of that heigh is going to have the same speed. You can have a coaster that's only 50ft. high and go the same speed at both the bottom and the top of that coaster as a coaster that is 100ft. high. Think about it, you should be able to figure out why.

I held off the project for a bit. I'll be working on it later on.

Maybe you think this is NL but in SM you can't choose how fast it can get the train in the wanted speed when your messing with lifts. It only works on Lim launches and they look ugly and unrealistic in SM
