Vliegende Hollander at Efteling Park is now complete and testing has started. Speed seems to be an issue through the horseshoe element.
Vliegende Hollander is KumbaK's first coaster, which is a water coaster.

If anyone has anymore pictures or links to pictures of this new coaster (Dirk, Hyyyper etc..I'm looking at you!) please post them here.

Thanks to RCT-3-Crazy, the flying Dutchman for providing the information for this update!

Hey, I'm dutch to man! And I'm from the same site as Dirky.

I've got more links:

BTW. Its a Darkride and watercoaster in one atraction.

From RCDB.com
-------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------

At this moment testing is being done, however the train doesn't complete the track in a proper way. It seems to have big trouble with the horseshoe. The lake is not filled yet and thats one of the things thats goign to be done before the openeing.

Also some more facts:

-Double station
-they can somhow change the way the car hit the watter, so this coaster can be open in the winter to!

Small correction: Kumbak is only the engineer. Efteling has build this coaster in own management. Kumbak only did the calculating... The boats are an own design of Efteling.

Correction... DVH is not fully tested already in full circuit-rides. The problems (stall) aren't there anymore. On monday, the boat managed to complete the coastertrack on it's own power. Park Director Olaf Vugts said that the dalay is due to some problems with the adjustments of the scenes, which will take much more time. Also, the theming is not ready everywhere.

It's not the way the coaster hits the water, it's the height of the water that can be adjusted.

Well, if KumbaK did all the calculations and whatnot, it would still be there first coaster, no?

I couldn't find the right english word for it... (I'm Dutch, you see [;)])

But it's just like Werner Stengel. But with the difference that Efteling designed the coaster, and gave Kumbak the assignment to calculate the stuff. So, to say that it's a Kumbak-coaster, I'm not fully with that. But yes, it's the first coaster Kumbak calculated. But not more than that.

I will put it in Dutch down here...

Kumbak doesn't have anything to do with it since the designstadium. Simply everything has been done by Efteling and their subcontractors (Kumbak is only a small link in the chain)

Also the speed isn't a problem. It's that they test everything very slowly, because kumbak asked more money eventually. But the efteling didn't wanted to pay more then they did now, so kumbak quitted. Efteling had now half complete software for the ride so they need to recreate the software so everything works fine.
I guess the software is now done and the testing begon, but they are testing it slowly so speed isn't maximum yet.

Even the offical opening of 16 april has been delayed to somethings in spring.

Some people that were in Efteling today, said that they were testing the coasterpart. Remember I said the coaster didn't stall? Well, it didn't... Untill this afternoon.... [:(] The boat stalled between the horseshoe and the trimbrakes.

Tonight there comes a video online.

Thank you Efteldingen.nl for this news. [:)]

To Pinhead: the speed of the chain at the end wasn't the final speed. It was done for testingpurposes.

Video is online here

Just watched the video. That really sucks, I wonder what they are going to do to fix the problem?

That's the reason they are testing. It had stalled before. So no big deal. They just test, adjust, test, adjust. Until it goes right. I wonder how the real boats are gonna look like.

If it stalls like that on more than one occasion, I'd say that is a pretty big deal. [shocked]

How much adjusting can they do? And what are they adjusting?

Then it's probably not the best idea to correct others on such miniscule details if you can hardly express your own thoughts correctly in English.

If that is the speed its going to do, they won't have to adjust the water in the winter! [lol]
