All the gold pass guests have a beta copy from cs.com.

Dcs221 is in very much trouble now.

I think the name 1.6 is kind of odd, after all, the last one was 1.55, and 1.58 for mac-ers (probably wasn't necessary for windows anyways) so I thought it should probably be named 1.7 since they're making some good changes to it. Nice shots from the beta, wish I could try it out. But since the beta is there, we might see some more comprehensive shots next week, though I'm not sure how they're doing on the textures.

You'd of though if Ole was smart he would advertise it more over here, due to the large amounts of traffic we get, espiecaly compared with CS.Com, but it's his loss

I agree, but that's probably not the best way to get him over hear.

CS must of drawn up some deal or something with Ole way back ...

I truly don't understand - we easily have a more active site ... plus we don't ban if you forget your password.

True dat. If he wanted true un-biased opinions, here is the place.

Well he is probably getting responses he wants because most likely CS is forcing members to rate it high or they will be banned. [}:)]

^lol come on, get a life. They do just as much complaining as this site. Trust me - I see all of the exact same topics and replies x2 since I visit there occasionally. It gets rather irritating seeing the same, stupid replies twice.

^^CS formed pretty much before of NL. Thats why. The site pretty much existed to get NL a place to shine.

most liekly reason we're not into the stuff like that is cuz they don't like that we are so lax on the rules and postings here. Probably scares them that we'd let the haters of NL post their stuff without deleting their posts. I am almost certain that is it, but whatever, what matters to me is that my my members are comfortable to post their minds. Though that coasterkidmwm fellow is a weirdo [lol]

Ah, CS.com, haven't logged on there in so long ever since I forgot the birthdate I entered at registration. (I registered before they took down the age limit) Now if I try to register another account I'm going to get banned if it's done automatically, if it's not I might have another chance to return, but really, I don't give a damn anymore.

Anyways, I thought the new screenshots would be posted today, I wonder what's keeping them busy.

Edit: Would someone mind taking a check on the CS forums to see if anything new happened there? Like if there are any screenshots or anything posted there? (I looked through it and there seems to be some stuff from april fools, but I'm just curious as to what the forums have)

Haha WWS your "lax" haven does WONDERS for my constipation.

BTW Mr. Dragon Fly, I apologize for twisting this around, but my life story is a hater forum. [^]

And yeah the graphics look chill but I'm too cheap to buy a graphics card that will make them look good w/o going below 15fps [sillyme]

Get a 9600pro 256mb, it's $78 and will help a lot with your other games too. At least get something with DirectX9 pixel shaders. But even if you still have a crappy geforce 2, it still supports the water effect, and either way your framerate with a geforce 2 will already be crap anyways because of the cars. Either way, you can just set reflections to sky only and let the shaders kick in, won't do too much there, it's mostly the polygon count (which the reflections muiltiply) that damages the framerate.

That card is outdated... even my x700 is on the verge of becoming outdated.... even those new cards ATI and Nvidia just came out with will become outdated with in a year do to directX10 coming out with VISA.

Except that games wont even be running on DX10 for about 1 year since production takes so long so dont even think about DX10 till at least a year from its release.

Meh, you can never keep up to date on that stuff, no matter how much $$ you spend. Besides the 9600pro 256 is still pretty good for those who can't afford higher end cards, dispite some of the lag you get with it.

Oh yeah, has anyone checked the stuff at the CS.com forums yet? (see my edit above)

Yea sorry, the only ATI cards you want to look at for around $100 would be the X1600PRO. Even then, it's weak when compared to the $150 X1600XT.

You can't ever have a card thats not out of date becuase they keep releasing more and more of them every few months.

I just got a BFG 7600 GT for around 220 pretty powerful card.. havn't tested out NL yet but Im sure if it runs HL2 with most everything on full at 120 fps it will run NL just fine.

btw, Vista is so overrated.

Well, people are talking as if its going to be the best thing to hit the computer industry since the microprocessor and I just don't agree with that. Maybe overhyped would be a better word, or possibly super impractical.

Overhyped maybe but you cant even say super impractical - you havent used it and Im sure they havent released all that it can do.

Never noticed the new crossties good observation.

About vista,
A. The system requirements way to high. I really don't want most my system resources to be spent running the OS. Its gonna require at least half a gig of ram, I got 4 times that but not everyone does.
B. 3D desktop, in a preview of how it works multiple windows open (7+) cause the system to lag some. This was tested on an above average computer. I already have twice the average desktop space becuase I'm running a multimonitor rig. So that doesn't phase me.
C. 64 bit mode, probably the one thing its got going for it in my book, but I already have Windows XP 64 bit edition and it runs just fine.

... I wonder if NL will ever go 64bit..
