Here is a topic about Politics, something to get rowdy about because we havnt had a good contreversial topic in awhile [;)]
So, what do you guys think about President Bush? I am a Republican myself, but he is putting us more in debt than we have been in awhile...actually about half way the debt ever since the stock market crash in 1929.

thats what just about the whole country thinks right now because either they like to judge based on what they can see in the media or they go by popular opinion. Both of my parents work for the government and they know very well whats really goin on over in the middle east. Its not so much that we're just keeping troops over there for no reason, its the fact that there are still a lot of supporters of Saddam. With that said, there's also the fact that basically everyone but the supporters of Saddam is sincerely and incredibly happy for what we did and what we're still doing. It might seem like they're wasting time, money, and lives by staying over there, but they
have and are still rebuilding a freaking country. All the terrorist attacks you hear about, the roadside bombings, they put a more negative image on the current situation. My point is, you need to look at it as a whole, see EVERYTHING that's happened and is still happening, THEN decide. Its ever too common that people speak before they even know something these days.

yes, the people who are the happiest about the fall of saddam are the people we've been fighting there since. i'm 35 years old,i pay CLOSE attention to not what people say about george bush and what he says and does, but what he does do and say, and people like that smug c*nt condi too. i was in the navy for 6 years, my parents are incredibly stereotypical hard core, right wing conservative fundamentalists who can be sold anything with a "jesus fish "sticker on it, like george bush and his war. I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT when i talk about how scary it is to have someone like him as our president. he's a tool of both the military hawks AND the religious right, which is costing us, these are two groups that should never hold power this huge.the man will push the button if he thinks it'll make a prophecy come true or make america look like a bad ass. . . there are still military personell over there thinking that they're there because "it's paybacktime for 911" many of them don't know that there have been admissions of "no connection between saddam hussien and alqueada" except for one simular to one between, say, jerry falwell and bill clinton. i'm not a democrat , no sir, nor a republican.. i'm a PROUD non partisan , and i hated having to vote for kerry last election,. but it was the only other real choice because of our screwed up, 2 party system.
that the economy is in a shambles is ambiguous but not neccesarily irrelevant... honestly(and yes i have thought about it) i think that he thinks the rapture will happen before it gets bad enough to affect him..... i could go on and on, but i'll stop...
actually the reason was "he was an immenent threat" which is actually not true, and i think they knew it(of course they did).. when you know something isn't true and you tell people that trust you that it is it's called ..LYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All that tax cuts for the rich means is that people who make, say, $200,000 a year or more only have to pay 10% instead of like 12%. So they are still paying more since thier income is a lot higher than say some one who makes a yearly salary of 30,000, but they don't get that extra percentage rate taken out of thier pay check so they get to keep a little more of thier hard earned money, which I don't disagree with because a lot of them had to work EXTREMELY hard just to get to the position they're at today.
Spiraling into debt.... This is a serious problem, with the whole inflation and everything, I think this issue should be talked about a lot more then the whole immigration thing seeing as how I don't want my dollar to be worth next to nothing in the next 10 - 20 years.
murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraq's citizens - Cuz you know American Troups just storm into Bagdad and shoot every Iraqi they see.*rolls eyes*

as for me, i can't stand bush. and not only does it seem like he doesn't know what he's doing...he just keeps making it worse. and then again, Kerry probably wouldn't have been any better. but it was our only chance to get bush out.

I lean toward the conservative side, but even I dissaprove of what our president is doing. Tax cuts for the rich, spiraling into debt, and murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraq's citizens is definitely not something I admire. Also, I'm starting to think that he might have cheated to win the 2000 election by hiring private companies to blacklist african-american voters. So, all in all, I don't think he's doing a very good job. Any time that our country goes to war, we need a much better reason than "there's a chance that this guy might be a threat".

I personally think that we should be more worried about Iran or China than about Iraq.
Well, war is good for the economy. Just look at the past and how it got us out of the depression. Then again, you need a competent president to pull it off...

We all know he's not good with vocab, he can't deliver a speech, and he is not quick-witted at all--but I have no real complaints about the guy.
Besides, if Kerry were in office, the draft would be initiated and we'd be much worse in debt.
It's not the man's fault that he was in office when all of this happened. It was inevitably going to happen, regardless of who was in office.

If you are under 18 and not working - dont reply in this thread. What you say means nothing. Untill you are working or 18 and old enough to vote none of this should matter. You arent contributing to the economy and you cant vote so your voice really doesnt matter.
Also, if you are just one of those arm-chair analysts who sits around reading things but NEVER makes any effort to change anything or even help/start - DONT TALK. I cant stand people who complain about everything but do nothing to help the situation. If you claim you cant do anything - stop complaining.
So that really leaves those who are in the working force, can vote and actively participate in making the country better.
If you arent part of the solution you are part of the problem. Before blaming everything on the president, get up off your butts and do something about it. The President never has and never will have the power to change the US.
