basically what he said ^

If you go to "display" in your editor on the top bar, you can click on "show heartline" and a yellow line should appear above the middle of your track. This will show the level at where the riders chests will be approximately. You should, on most steel coasters anyway, make transitions and bankings from element to element revolve around the heartline so you end up with a smoother yellow line - a smoother ride for riders... For example in a heartline roll, while the train revolves 360 degrees upside down, the riders chests should stay in the same postion pretty much, and the heartline should stay straight. This reduces lateral Gs mostly.

and Pumping is where two track segments dont quite match up. The radius at the end of one, is different to radius at the start of the next. A pump is most easily viewed from the back of the train. When the train travels from one segment to the next, there will be a "bump" or a "pump" along the train. You can get rid of these by making the radius at each vertex the same on each of the two segments. Its harder to do by hand, as you pretty much have to estimate.

Hope that helped, and wasnt too confusing. Just thought i'd provide a bit more of an in-depth description
