Just woundering, but is there other places where you can find rides by nightride and JohnbkChill and the other great designers of that site?

www.freewebs.com/nightride

Although its not up to date... so it doesn't contain one of the best roller coasters he's ever created. [:(]

Pad -- I need to talk to Jon about it as I am sure he is gonna be hot. But, hopefully he will make an appearance here, no telling though.

Some insight though: I talked to three different coders this morning. All three are convinced this was an inside job - and that someone who knew where stuff was caused the crash. When I explained how it happened (systematically, beginning with the forums) - two of them immediately said this was a hack via someone who had a backdoor - like a certain folder which shall remain nameless at this time.

Again, very odd this would happen right after I bought it ... then again right after everything was back up and running. Now, I cannot prove anything -- but if I ever am able (in case anyone involved might see this) to prove it, I will personally DDOS your machine into the next millenium, allowing you to enter the internet was Coasters3K comes online. As a network administrator for the Air Force with a server room at his finger tips - this, is my promise.

why the hell would someone do that?. let alone how?

If you had a website controlled by a SQL database (where all things are integrated into it), and I had a backdoor to enter through the coding and assume an Admin role in the SQL server ... bye bye site. That is how.

Maybe someone was sore that they had to say goodbye to it and hand it over to someone else even if they agreed on the sale price.

Sometimes, you find yourself looking for a new home - now that C2K is gone, I figured that I might as well do something that I should have done a long time ago, and join some other coaster sites. I'm not going to comment on what happened at C2K, aside from saying that it will be sorely missed, and without it, I never would have pushed my design skills as far as they have gotten. I thank C2K and everyone involved for that opportunity.

For those of you who are looking for my NL tracks, I managed to "rescue" all of my posted designs before C2K went down, so I have them on my computer. I'll probably post a few of them, but it might be a while, since I may decide to go back and revamp a few of them - my standards have evolved quite a bit since I made some of those rides. If people are looking for something in particular, just send me a PM and I'll see what I can do for you.

I guess that's my introduction.

Haha yea i was pretty much a C2k lurker also, even getting my start on that site. Glad to see that a good designer doesnt get erased from the net.

Hey Jon -- I have everything from everyone as well (the entire history of C2K) ... they can be easily sent to you, just let me know what you need if anything. ;-)

Thanks for the kind words. I didn't know that my tracks were held in any particular esteem, so I feel kinda warm and fuzzy now [:D].

There were some amazing older tracks at C2K, so I'm glad that they aren't lost forever. I was actually a few weeks away from posting my latest design on C2K, so that will be one of the first things that I will post here at WWS. I'll post one track very shortly though, and that is "The Spectre of Stone Mountain".

I'm still getting used to the form and format of this site, so it might be a few days before I can really become a productive member. Every site is different, and I was with C2K for so long, it is going to take some time to acclimate.

Man, i cant believe C2K has gone down. That well-and-truely sucks.

But i honor you for trying tj. I was a member of C2K before you even joined it, i learned everything on there, it even convinced me to make a woody (i did a wooden racer the other day btw)!

Rest in peace.

And this bird you can not change! Well, I guess you can, I guess the proper terminology would be, "And this bird you cannot kill!"[lol]
