An SDC Galaxi was relocated to the park in 1993. That's it, although it has no trims, and is in good condition. I don't like it for thrills, but because it keeps the classic feel running alive and well at the park, it's in a class all it's own. I never saw both trains running at the same time, but whenever I go (weekdays in summer) the line rarely is longer than walk on.

My original home park is the closed Euclid Beach park.

My current home park is Kennywood...just a five minute drive away.

^Dude...but you are also 4 hours away from Avalanche and a score of water parks - indoor and out. At least you could find one of each and get season passes and BOOM - instant weekend activities.

If you lived closer that is.

SFOG ... Visionland is closer (RAMPAGE BABY) though but not much to do there after killing your ribs on Rampage.
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

jcf1 = CP FANBOY!!! w00T

I would trade it for those too. Cp is full of average rides with about 5 of them being good.

EDIT: My avatar is one of those, so don't give me crap about that.

Each one is better than CP in a bajillion ways. From park operators, to rides, to upkeep and appearance.

Of course, they are all smaller and more closely owned by a single parent company. Sure, Cedar Fair does pour alot into CP but they have other parks to worry about. Plus, its so big, its very "corporatized". If youve ever been to any of the parks Ive listed, theres very good reasons against CP.

I also mean Id take one of those - not all three. If all three were within 1 hour of each other it would nearly be heaven on earth.

yep.. the saddest part for me was what they've done to knott's. at least knott's insisted on making my childhood dream come true with ghost rider, when they sold it. i've ridden it countless times every year, and it's always number one..
but what they did to the old knott's is sad. some of the old ghost town is still there, but alot of it is rebuilt with prefab amusement park buildings. it was sad enough to see all the old museums disapear in the late 80s and early 90's. these were full of things that are still in my memory. ALOT of them are gone. i can even remember a time when you could purchase real antique guns through the gun shop. and CHICKENS EVERYWHERE thousands of chickens. alot of people in buena park kept chickens, and when they had too many they'd let them off at knott's. it was even in the o.c. register one time, and knott's was like "NO MORE CHICKENS!!! PLEASE!!!!when i was 16 /17 years old the infamous orange county punk movement was still in full gear and knott's was a big hangout. i was really into the ska/mod scene and until we were 18 that's where EVERYONE we knew was. sometimes the motorcycle parking lot to the left of where g r's turnarounds are was full of vespas and lambrettas. . in 1987-88 it was 9$ on a saturday night and they had two dancehalls, one that played comeplete mainstream crap called studio "k" and another in the roaring twenties that was what is now refered to as "alternative" the seating area nearby was full of goths,skinheads(no not those white trash racist posers) mods, rude boys, various punkers, and an occasional hippy.the term "alternative" had not been invented by mtv yet. man i miss those days. while most of the kids were there to hang out i was still insanely preoccupied with the rides. it didn't keep me from getting girls though, in fact it helped.. i'd say "wanna go on some rides? " and the next thing you know i'm making out with some girl from norwalk on the log ride. haha. fun stuff.
oh yeah and what the hell are they thinking tearing down the haunted shak to install one of those 20 dollar a pop bungee swing thingy? last i checked theres like one of those every year at every big fair, and there's one less haunted shack... that's my home park...
