Hey everyone, my family's planning a trip to California this August and they're only letting me have one park day (I'm still working on getting two). I was wondering, for anyone that has been to both, should we try to go to SFMM or Knott's Berry Farm? My first choice right now would be Six Flags, mostly because of X and Tatsu, but the rides at Knott's look really fun to, just not as many. Best case senario would be going to both, but I'm not sure how likely that is.[dunno]

You chose right dude. SFMM is competing up there with the best theme park in the world. And of course Tatsu is reaching full-completion and its looking amazing.
Rides at Knotts do look very fun in-deed, Xcelerator, Silver Bullet, Ghostrider not forgetting Boomerang[lol].
But SFMM has the ultimate edge. Tatsu, X, Goliath, Scream and loads more.
Without a shadow of a doubt SFMM.

Piff Chris, I spit on You!

lol, SFMM has ALOT more trees than knotts does, ghostrider is built over concrete... along with silver bullet... Magic Mountain is by far the better choice dude. I cant spend more than 2 hours at knotts without boredom setting in.

I agree, there's only so much you can do at Knotts because it is smaller.

SFMM....GOLIATH!!!!!111111111omfgomfomfgomfgomfgfogmofgmgmfomgfogmomfg[/fanboy]
Probably no ride at Knotts can even compare, not even Xcel. Plus you've got X at SFMM.

Yea, the Gio Goliaths look quite boring except for the helix of death.

I find it hard to believe you got no airtime on Xcel. How many times did you ride and where? Ive never heard anyone say there was no airtime. Depending where you sit you get the airtime early or late in the hill.

Ive ridden xcelerator many many times in many many seats, The airtime is alright in back, but anywhere else I dont feel any. Im not a big fan of those cars so maybe Its just me. I just feel like xcel is probably the worst rocket coaster. Yet it was the first so that is explainable

Maybe its been toned down some.

Ive seen videos where it hauls over the top. Plus its tophat is a little bit circular compared to the ones after which also has an effect.

I've gotten air in the front seat, so I don't know what you're talking about SFMM Homie. While it wasn't the best or most strong air, it was definitely there.

Lol at Real "Helix of Death" [lol].
Myself i have ridden many "Helix's of Death", here's a few of them Kumba(the helx where your bladder nears your rectum), Nemesis's after the Corkscrew(near blackout), and the most crazy helix, The wrap around from the 2nd immelman on DD:fire which combines all crazy helix's of death into one intense experiance!
Sheikra's helix was pretty drole!
Yeah man, helix's rock!

^^^ What kind of a theory is that dude, come on.
Think about it. The way your talking you would choose one coaster, one excellent coaster yes, but one coaster over Ghostrider, Xcelerator, Silver Bullet, Montezoomas Revenge, Boomerang, Perilous Plunge.
Eh???

Honestly you could probably fit SFMM and Knotts into one day if you so choose. Hit up Knotts early, stay there for 2 hours and ride all 3 rides, then leave to get lunch and then hit up SFMM for a few hours. SFMM tends to empty out a bit in the evening, especially in July/August, so you should be able to get in Tatsu, X, Goliath, Riddlers, and Scream,if not more.

Thanks for all the feedback, I guess SFMM is the obvious choice for one day, but...

thanks for this idea too. If I get a Valleyfair season pass again this year (which may or may not happen) my brother and I could get into Knott's for free.
Another question, how far is it from Knott's to SFMM if we did do the one day thing?

IMO, goliath at SFMM sucks, if you realy want to ride a Good Goliath you should come to WW.

I would chose for SFMM, they have 17 coasters(at least if there all operating). I have to agree that KBF is cool to, but coasters like X and Tatsu just make SFMM. Also the Parking scenery on the back coasters is realy cool :D

^^ Knotts is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away from SFMM, give or take.
Anyways, either way you can't go wrong, although you can fill a day a lot easier at SFMM then Knotts, but if you've never been to either you should have the same ammount of fun no matter which park. But simply because SFMM built a new ride, I'd go with them, but I'd also try real hard to get to knotts.
