PowerPark is plowing ahead with testing of Thunderbird, despite the large amounts of snow still on the ground. Thunderbird is GCI's second coaster for 2006 and is expected to open on April 29th.
It looks like a great coaster. But why do they have that shrek thing strapped to the train? [:)] hopefully I'm going to ride this next year. My first gci!
I really like how GCI makes their rides with airtime in mind though they're not known for it. Most companies I've seen would just ease up into that turn with a positive g radius while GCI does it with a negative g radius. It's little things like that that make them.
I think GCI is shaping up to be the "B&M" of woodies and GG to be the "Intamin" (not to be confused with the actual Intamin woodies [:P]) of woodies.
They both do what they do very well, but one does it with grace and very smooth flowing features while the other relies on brute strength and power to deliver an intense ride.
