Each train is 2 seats wide and then they come back together at the end (put 2 and 2 together), that's my 2 cents
This is possible, the intamin 4D coaster style is on RCT3

For the last time, "2 and 2" means Water+Coaster... it's not going to be a 4D coaster, believe me.
I think, or know by this point, that it will be Intamins version of a 'PowderKeg' coaster, a.k.a AquaTrax...

If it's a 4D coaster, does it have to be made by intamin? Gerstlauer uses a nock-off of the intamin track, vekoma uses the arrow track

Maybe i'ts backwards...

They already have backwards and they quote "a whole new direction.

Also if you look at the footers where the swans used to be the acutal footer is big! and the "screw" part of it has a wide radius witch means it needs a lot of support which there were a lot not to far from each other.

I got a guess... What is the name of that coaster that no limits came out with? it was a demo, it was kinda like a 4d but a large wheel was connected to 2 seats that spun...

I doubt that. That company's track had no resemblance to Intamins at all.

i still doubt it is an aquatrax. cedar point always adds record breakers or world class ones. an aquatrax would bring down their reputation dramatically. It is going to be a good one-of-a-kind ride.

Cedar Point strives for a coaster that ...

- breaks at least one new world record.
- is the first of it's kind to be constructed.
- is insanely expensive and/or huge in scale.

CP always brings down the house when we talk about new coasters. I mean many of the coaster they have all break at least one record, i mean we have to think of all the possibilities here. Speed-TTD, Height-MF these are just 2 of the most recent records broken, I just think we have to wait for a few moew clues on the subject before we can actually make a honest prediction. But don't get me wrong it;s nice to dream on what it could be.

If you go to this link you can see some very good points. http://coaster-net.com/forums/index.php ... ntry107527

The main points

-There are some very large footings that look like a launch station.
-This is an 18 month construction process, so there is a big possibillity of a whole refurbishment of that part of the park and new other rides too. When I say renovation, I don't mean a Six Flags renovation. I mean rebuilding, remodling, and all of that good stuff.
-Also, if you look at http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=3673 and compare the footers to the 5 gallon bucket, you will see that the supports will be quite large. This means lots of force on the track. Could they possibly be going for height?

By the way, for those of you that don't think CP will break any records... their last big coaster project which didn't break any records was Iron Dragon, way back in 1987. Here is the list of their non-kiddie coasters, along with the records that each one broke.

Blue Streak (1964)
-none

Cedar Creek Mine Ride (1969)
-none

Corkscrew (1976)
-Most inversions on a coaster (3)

Gemini (1978)
-World's tallest coaster (125 ft)
-Longest drop on a coaster (118 ft)
-World's fastest coaster (60 mph)

Wildcat (1979)
-none

Disaster Transport (1985)
-none

Iron Dragon (1987)
-none

Magnum X-L 200 (1989)
-World's tallest coaster (205 ft)
-World's fastest coaster (72 mph)
-Longest drop on a coaster (195 ft)
-World's first Hypercoaster (+200 ft)

Mean Streak (1991)
-World's tallest wood coaster (161 ft)
-World's fastest wood coaster (65 mph)
-Longest drop on a wood coaster (155 ft)

Raptor (1994)
-World's tallest inverted coaster (137 ft)
-World's fastest inverted coaster (57 mph)
-Longest drop on an inverted coaster (119 ft)
-Most inversions on an inverted coaster (6)
-First inverted coaster to feature a 'cobra roll' inversion

Mantis (1996)
-World's tallest stand-up coaster (145 ft)
-World's fastest stand-up coaster (60 mph)
-Longest drop on a stand-up coaster (137 ft)
-Most inversions on a stand-up coaster (4)
-World's first 'inclined loop' inversion

Millennium Force (2000)
-World's tallest coaster (310 ft)
-World's fastest coaster (93 mph)
-Longest drop on a coaster (300 ft)
-Steepest non-inverted turn on a coaster (122 degrees)
-World's first GigaCoaster (300+ ft)

Wicked Twister (2002)
-World's tallest inverted impulse coaster (215 ft)
-World's fastest inverted impulse coaster (72 mph)
-Longest drop on an inverted impulse coaster (206 ft)
-Most twisting on an inverted impulse coaster (450 degrees)
-World's first double-twisting inverted impulse coaster

Top Thrill Dragster (2003)
-World's tallest coaster (420 ft)
-World's fastest coaster (120 mph)
-Longest drop on a coaster (400 ft)
-World's first StrataCoaster (400+ ft)

So, as you can see, CP has quite a record. I doubt that they'll abandon 20+ years of record breaking. I'm guessing they'll break at least one record with this coaster, whether it will be inversions, a first, height, speed, or whatever.

oops... the Discovery Channel was wrong. It wasn't the first corkscrew... it was the first to have 3 inversions, though.

I heard somewhere that it was the first to corkscrew... can't remember which, though. And since the DC is the only channel that ever shows coaster shows, I'm pretty sure that it was them. But, yeah, I probably should have checked my sources [:p].

Anyway, I still think that the new ride will break some sort of record.

Knott's corkscrew was the first ride to have a cork I believe.
