I'm looking into buying a JVC Everio G Series GZ-MG20 for coaster videos, and I want to know if it is durable enough to withstand the roughness of some coasters. Don't worry, I'm going to email each park that has an email address of the ones I'm going to, asking permission to bring the camera on ride, AND ask the ride op (s) right before getting on.

The parks I am going to ask: (Although I will film with my Quasar VM515 for the 2006 season)

Dorney Park

Seabreeze

Sylvan Beach

ride ops at the NY State Fair

TGE

MFI

SFDL

and if you're gonna go with something around $800, I'd suggest you buy one of the 3CCD models from Panasonic. You'll get MUCH better color quality.

This is what I'm talkin about

I tried one of these out at best buy, they're very nice.

and I'd also suggest a wide converter lense for coaster videos. It makes it a bit easier to get a steady POV and can really improve the view.

Wide converter lens. Noted. But, I'm looking for something the quality of a Quasar VM515 or better, which is what I have now. (It was made in either the late 1980's or early 1990's) Oh, the camera I want is about $500, I don't think I'll pay much more than that.

Hopefully, we have covered the "asking the ride op" portion for you on Coasterfuel ...

Take the hint about asking permission.
