jcf1, there is no way CP would attempt to secretly describe their new coaster by means of comparison to a coaster in a competing park. It's bad marketing. It's obviously going to be a western/cowboy themed coaster.

since one of the signs says "we're goin' in a whole new direction!"
has anyone considered that it may be literally a whole new direction?
for example, some sort of sideways seating, where riders sit back to back facing out the sides of the track.

just apply the thought to a ride you know well, a zero-g would be like a fron/backflip, and a vertical loop would be like a huge side-flip.

I doubt they would use that kind of seating.... the G's would be kind of extreme in some spots to hadle sideways.

Brtnboarder495, i dont think its a replacement for MF cuz, the track color is red, unless they are planning on painting it blue.

Compact but good launced looper with loads of twists and turns with special seats in a western theme... Sounds good to me

It really depends on how the turns were taken and banked. Also, maybe the cars could mechanically spin like X's.

And also, where in the world do we see the track out of the tarp and shown as red?

I don't see any additional rails on the track to control the spin, so I don't think it's gonna have contorlled rotation.

Although I highly doubt the spinning car idea, who is to say that there isn't more detail on the other side of the piece of track? ;)

There are lots of pieces of track that have nothing over them at parts of the park.

I wouldn't thrust the signs either. Might hurt someone.

I was looking for a link lol, but nvm I found one. Interesting, most of the parts are only three railed too. It certainly can't be that high then. We know it's an intamin, we know it won't be over 200-250 feet in height. What about a launched intamin mega looper? First lanched intamin mega looper, most inversions, ect. Combine that with theming and that'll be sweet.

One fact that many seem to be overlooking is that Kingda Ka began construction in late fall, early winter, and was completed around the following spring. Now look at the progress CP is making with it's new ride, tons of parts already on-site, construction for the base seems to have already begun, and yet we aren't even into the summer of 2006! It MUST be something complicated and "huge" if they have begun construction so far in advance, about one year I'm guessing.

Yea i agree, but i dont think it has to be huge in height. I actually dont think it will be more then 200 feet tall. But i do think it'll be really twisted and long with lots of track going under and over itself many times.

Update:

A new truckload of coaster track has arrived! There are at least 20-30 track sections laying out by Breakers now, and all of them are curving up. Plus, there is a section of what appears to be an in-line twist.

I'm about 95% positive that it's a multilooper now.

Also, many new footers have been dug out, all the way over by Mean Streak. Lots of stuff is happening...

Is the piece you think is the inline twist 2-rail?

That in-line twist piece is next to what looks like a vertical loop, it might be a dive loop.

Some additional Aerial photos have come into http://pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?a=461 .
IMO, They show what could be the lift and curving drop on a multi looper.

Take a look for yourself

It could be a vertical lift with a short straitaway and the a turing drop
