Ya, it's supposed to come out January or so, it was supposed to come out in 2002 but kept getting delayed. Hopefully they don't delay it any more, I have the beta and all I can say is it's pretty good.

Of course, Mac OS X has been out for quite some time now, containing most of the "cutting-edge" features that Vista is still trying to make work.

Oh, and it's practically virus-proof.

And if you just HAVE to run Windows, you can do that on your Mac as well.... but why the hell would you WANT to?

Vista is pretty dam stupid because the requirements are bogus for what they wanna do. Everything they're doing on vista has already been done on OS X with much much lower requirements. Besides, even though Tiger just came out so recently, Mac is going to have yet another os out pretty soon. So if you have the money, upgrade to a mac, or just stay with XP.

I can't really see any reason for having those requirements except for earning manufacturers more money for more expensive hardware.

I have the Beta for Vista and I am not impressed. But whatever, MS has to continue making money somehow.
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

Yeah, I am probly not going to get Vista until it is out for at least one year. Remeber when Windows XP first came out?everyone was pissed because it had so mny bugs that it was not even worth it, and I bet that Vista will probly be the same way, maybe not as worse because they have been trying to fix all the bugs that so they do not have a repeat episode like what happened with XP

No.. it's not. Its just that no where near as many people people spend thier time making Mac viruses like they do for PC's.

I have Windows Vista, it is nothing special, but i like the layout o some things, I have not tried if No Limits will work on it, but i bet it will. Also Smer, you can order a DVD kit to come to your house to get Vista. The only thing i don't like about it is that it shows the all programs menu in that little search box. But oh well.

looks pretty spiffy. Now, what can they include if the thing is only 4.4gb max? wasn't the os itself supposed to take up about 15gb?

I do not recommend anyone to download the Beta, because not that many programs are supported in it, almost no Anti-Virus program is supported. Also my graphics driver is not supported which is a Nvidia GForce 4 Graphics card. Power DVD, is not supported and some other old programs.

I have Vista Beta 2 and too be honest...it sucks. To me bascialy just a new skin for windows and a slightly different layout. People who rave about this are complete and utter morons, who I'd recommened venturing out of the house more

I say we all buy Macs. Now that Macs can run Windows applications, there is no need for windows anymore.

Well macs can't run All windows applications, most PC games can't be played on macs, yet macs are more realiable then Windows, i don't think people get the same feel for it for some reason.

for the average person/gamer, PC is what you need.

for someone who wants to do real work, mac is what you need.

it all depends on what you use the computer for.
