So then, who reckons their country can do it? I'm from England so obviously I don't reckon mine can do it *eye roll*, have we got anyone from Brazil on here? Obviously they'll win, being Brazil and all [:)]

Seriously though, I do actually think England might have a chance this time (say this every time), best squad we've had for a very long time, if not ever (always say this too), but this time I actually think it's true (say this everytime without fail). Come on me babbies!!!!

I'm not one for international football to be honest, club football is much better, but you can't beat a good world cup [:)]

Lol agreed about England, but they arn't good enough for the quality of players they have.
IMO i think Argentina, Germany + Brazi are the top contenders for the world cup.
Brazi being Brazil
Germany(5:1[:)])- Although we did thrash them, they are a great side and obviously the hosts always get far. Korea got in the semi's remember[:P].
And Argentina are absolutely fantastic, Crespo, Saviola and Requelme are all awesome at attaking the goal.
Just seems to me Argentina have a specific edge that i cant work out.

All in all the world cup is a great month, the suns shining, beers flowing and spending time with your mates down the pub or in-front of the tellie is awesome.

There's no doubt The Netherlands will win this World Cup, we will have our revenge for Germany 1974! [:D]

The dutch(us) are going to get to the half finals ofcourse! We'll probably face Germany there, so even if I don't like it if we get the the 1/8 finals I still would like us to kick the germans but!

I personally hope that Germany gets kicked out in the firsz round. Personally hating the World Cup I think it's one of the biggest wastefulnesses there is! Thus I would really like to see the hosting Country getting kicked out! And fpr all you football lovers out there, that'S just my opinion so don't go mad at me.

What a world cup starter, normally they go to like 0-0 draws the majority of the time.
But Germanys first goal was absolutely outstanding[:)].

EDIT : Costa Rica pull one back, 3-2 to Germany. Wanchop scoring both goals now for Costa Rica, 17 minutes left.

Ish, do you not understand how much money this brings to your country? This competition is worth many many billions of pounds and the fact that your country is hosting it, gives your country, many more millions that it would have had otherwise, so whether you like football or not, cockface , it's going to benefit your country massively... apart from the violence between English/German/Polish fans [:D] it's all part of the beautiful game though, football brings everyone together, and everyone includes chavs, but chavs have to have their fun too, bless them [:)].

I was watching the US - Mexico game the other day. US was up 1 - 0 and the damn reception died. The second half was just getting started and I had to change it to Tremors. [xx(] What a crappy alternative.
But anyway, I feel the US actually stands a decent chance this year. Brazil is damn good, but they aren't doing as well this year as they have before. So who knows.

As for Germany winning the World Cup, no chance. Any team with any sort of attacking ability will rip their defence to shreds, they're truely useless, noticed against costa rica that thier offside trap was all over the place =|
