What coaster do you thing are under-rated?

I think Mantis is underrated.People seem to hate the trim brakes on the drop, but they are there so the ride wont pull so many G's.I mean come on Mantis is one very intense coaster & never lets up through the ride.If they were to take off the trim brake on the drop the G's would be nothing but pane.Mantis might not be as good as Riddlers Revenge, but Mantis will kill Riddlers Revenge in intensity.

Loup Garou in SF Belgium. It's the best wooden coaster I've been on (of almost all woodies coasters in Europe, including Zeus), yet still it doesn't get any attention really and was on 20-something position on that best wooden coaster-award.

Vekoma is pretty underrated in general too I think.

I dont know of Vekoma being under-rated, almost all of their rides are unbearably rough, a exception of that is RocknRollercoaster, but most of their rides are over cloned and, dare I say, garbage.

Batmans are being cloned and S:UFs now too I think.. They have created a good and compact design, so it has to be cloned. Why would anyone even buy a one if it would be garbage? How about the Giant Inverted Boomerangs? I've heard that they are smoother than anything and are their newest creations.

SLCs for instance are much more intense than B&M Inverteds, partly because of the "roughness". That's what woodies are about too, so why couldn't it add excitement to steel coasters?

I think vekoma is a very good manufacture. The have build alot more coasters than any other manufacture. So everyone RESPECT for vekoma, also because it's dutch off course Vekoma makes very nice rides. They can be a bit rough sometimes. I agree with you guys intamin and B&M are better on making smooth coasters but Vekoma is getting better at it. In six flags Holland 4 of 7 coasters are vekoma, and they are all very cool rides. The woodie is great. The LSM is great, the SLC is nice but too rough. the boomerang is.... a boomerang. Although i like the new intamin more, i think that's about speed and height.

Everyone is nagging about Vekoma, but they're not so bad. I admit Intamin and B&M is better but Vekoma is nice too.

From what I heard, the SLCs are murder, the boomerands are boring (Thats my opinion, also, though Ive only been on one.)
Their loopers are rough (Take Ninja at SFOG, it would be a great way for the FBI to make people "talk".), Their super invertigos hunt terribly, not to mention their huge downtime...

I know you can say that Superman at SixFlags Holland is good, because its a clone of Rockn Rollercoaster. When people say that Vekoma has made more coasters then everyone else, thats true, but more then 3/4 of them are clones of somthing.

Anyway, back on topic, I think the Comet at HersheyPark is under-rated, it has some of the best airtime anywhere.

Amen!

At Michigans Adventure The Wolverine Wildcat is a really good ride IMO, I don't hear complaints about it, it just doesn't have any talk at all. Also, I have to love Zacks Zoomer being my first coaster and all[:I]

Hmm, although it is rough, Hurler at PKD is very underrated. Actually, I didn't really mind the ride that much. It was very enjoyable.

I think that "The Legend" at Holiday World is severely under-rated. Ask anyone at the park, and they'll probably agree that The Legend is better than The Raven. It deserves to be in the top 3, not stuck all the way down in 7th ot 8th like it has been recently. It has the best lateral g's and out-of-controlled-ness of any coaster I've been on.

Well, of the coasters I've been on, SLC's IMO are only semi underrated, as they are a fun ride, but they hurt like crazy. Also I say that Hercules was unbelievably underrated. That thing was amazing, my first real taste of speed (over 60 mph) That thing may have not had airtime, but it was all about the raw speed. It's a horrible shame that it was torn down. Hydra also is severely underrated. I know it's not really forceful, but it is just so different from all other of B&M's designs. The Jo Jo Roll was a major highlight. The drop was great, and it flew through the elements gracefully, and that's why it's my #3 steel coaster.

After today, I really think Rattler should be way higher than like 148th. The ride is one of the most unique anywhere, and I though, except for the psycho helix, it was very smooth. It has those 3 insane drops, and the tunnel is pretty cool.

^^^Nah, I dont think Legend is better than Raven. It just doesnt have the airtime to go with the lats. Its an awesome ride but even though its alot longer it doesnt deliver the same "wow" factor that Raven does which in the end is what wins.

^^I thought Hydras Zero G is the best of all time that Ive been on. It rolls so slowly and has perfect floater air. Ive never been so twisted on a ride yet been so under control. It was nuts. Plus it does have forces and even has some intentional laterals as well. Very unique ride.

Real, you haven't been on SKC's 0g yet I guess. It's nuts airtime and lateral wise.

It wont compare. Its not as round in its parabola as Hydra. Silver Bullet somewhat started this trend with the Zero G's being flat and more round (check out Patriot - same thing). SKC's I would think is one of the better old ones but so would Superman in Madrid.

Hydras has no laterals too. You float up into your restraint - spin 360 and sit right back down in the craziest display of a Zero G.

For some reason, Hydra's appears to be more heartlined as well. I'm not sure, but just look at the differences here:

If you didn't know, I rode SKC 3 times today, so it's fresh on my mind.

Vekoma woodies are under-rated. They are good with intense drops and a bit of good roughness.

Kraken is just not over-hyped enough for me. And its a truely awesome coaster.
I suppose its not realy at a theme park, but when someone is reffering something to a floorless, it never seems to be kraken!!!.
Most B+M floorless coasters these days consist of a very similar layout through the first few elements. Loop, diveloop/immelman, 0g roll and then a Cobra roll. But where the ride differs from every other floorless is the ending. Its is somewhat unique reffering to a popular use of Interlocking Corkscrews.

Krakens ending consists of a large drop off the MCBR, into a g packing verticle loop... in a trench... with head-choppers at either end. What more could you want!!!
A nice camelback to get a nice view of the sitting area. Another swoopind drop into a head-chopping trench, high speed turn into a crazy corkscrew. Its just awsesome.
I could just go on about Kraken all day. Thus a large list i shall now post[lol]( i know...saddo) --- Very large altitude.
Air down the first drop
Nice hangtime on the first loop
A diving loop, which is taken straight
Absolutely crazy air on the 0g roll
G packing cobra roll
And the fantastic ending i was on about.

Kraken is just too good to be forgot about, i love it[:)]/Ich Leibe es[:D].
Yeah... EcG can speak good german too[ll]

Maybe no one's been on it (I know I haven't ridden it in years), but Le Monstre at La Ronde is a really great woodie. Really.
