You don't get banks to invest, you get investers to invest.[;)]
Whats happenning right now is they're selling off the parks to get out of debt to please the investers.[;)][;}][;)]

heck no, when you see what i'll do to that park you'llline up to pay double... i'll sell all the trim brakes off all the rides to cedar fair, amd sell deja vu and batman and use the money to fix collossus and psyclone.... and then everyone will want to go to "j mountain", the purest park in the west...

^stop, it was too great if that was for real, revolution running in its former glory, and the woodies fixed... well I don't know if those were great, but certainly better than they are now...

I am going to MM in two weeks, are the woodies (especially Collossus) rideable?

According to what I've read, Psyclone is rough as hell and collossus kinda slow and boring. I'd sure give collossus a go if they were running both tracks at once (although I heard that's rarely the case), but I'm not the right person to tell.

i am.. sorta.. collosus was , in my opinion the king of the late 70's wooden rollercoasters, with the exception of beast of course. now it's a scenic tour through and around a rollercoaster structure in morgan trains.. psyclone was ONE HELL OF A RIDE when it opened, but some idiot thought it would be a good i dea not to use trains built by people who build the RIGHT trains.. there's a reason it's the only wooden rollercoaster with b and m trains, and that's because they suck. but yeah, when it was tracking properly, that ride was a kick in the pants.now, well the good news is that the line is short and i can ride it like 10 times while my freinds wait in line for deja vu.. the bad news is that the line is short for a good reason.. they've ruined a perfectly good rollercoaster to save money for a generic peice of crap like deja vu.

Psyclone can't be fixed. Scrap it and keep Batman.[:D]
As far as Psyclone being ruff. Well, its not painful anymore. This past year they've retracked ALOT of it. SO it went from a painful boring ride, to a boring ride. I actually see people running back in line for more now.[lol]

well here is my opinion. first of all i love six flags magic mountain, love everything about, if they tear it down and build house i will be just devestated, as well as every coaster enthusiast. I have so many memories at the park. Mark Shapiro shouldnt do this, he should go back to ESPN he should have taken a business class cuz magic mountain is the heart of six flags, without its doomed. Magic Mountain has soooo much potential. If it does get sold, i hope busch gardens takes over and turn the park around. Anything will be fine as long as magic mountain stays! I cant live without sfmm.

at first I thought this is all just a plan to get people to the park but when i started reading i found out that theirs a chance it can happen. Well lets all hope for the best.

yeah, but the problem is that you have to go to texas to see it... nless it
s possible for someone like me to sneak into texas, go to six flags and be out of texas before they notice i'm not sure i'll go. it's actually #2 on my states i'll least likely visit, with florida at #1 no matter how much i'd like to see disney world.

I bet Snyder will destroy the whole chain so he can have enough money for the Washington Redskins a world championship or something. I hope Cedar Fair puts Six Flags out of it's misery since they are selling their biggest park, plan to kill Mr. Six on a Fright Fest commercial (that sure will be the right approach for family fun huh?). Snyder and Shapiro don't have a darn clue how to run a theme park chain so my suggestion is for Mr. Snyder to stick to football and Shapiro go back to doing whatever it was before he became Snyder's right hand man on Six Flags. If they keep this up Six Flags will fold and I will lose my park and they do not want to make the Hulk angry.

these parks hold that status because of what they were before they fell under the management of six flags.i highly doubt if a football guy realy cares about historical value, he's in it for the money, , we have a federal government right now who'll rule that making money is WAY more important than a historical landmark.. besides the government cannot force six flages to keep these parks, but i'm sure that there are investors who'd jump at the chance to take these parks offa six flags' hands and turn them back into the landmarks they are.

exactly.. the six flags part isn't historical, the original park is.. for some of these places it might be a better thing.

hell yeah.. that'd be bitchen.. outlaw amusement parks!!!!! like a gang of them... owned and operated by mutineers.. "enjoy your ride on the scrambler.. i'm going to lunch".. how awesome, it'd be a thrill seekers dream, when you ask the ride op" can you make it go faster" instead of .. "no sir it's all run buy a computer" he say's "you betcha!" and pushes the recently installed "no brakes on psyclone" button.....

Just a minor suggestion for Six Flags...

LOWER PRICES, YOU ASSHOLES!

If it costs so much to get in to the park, how can they hope to attract more families when most middle-class families are now under serious financial strain from rising gas prices and soaring education prices? Coaster-driven or not, the fact remains that the gate price at SF parks are over 50 bucks, parking is 10 or even 15, and the food/drink prices are completely ridiculous as well. I personally think that the first step to attracting families would be to lower prices so that it is affordable for families to go. Right now, for a family of four, it would cost almost 400 dollars for just one day at the park. That's way too much, my friends.

Take a look at Cedar Fair. Usually, the very first thing that they do when taking over a park is to lower the prices. Take a look at Cedar Point. They are able to not only stay afloat, but also build $20+ million projects every 2 to 4 years without fail, even though their gate price is only $39.95, parking is 6 dollars less than Six Flags, and they sell cotton candy for 25 cents. Kinzel definitely knows how to do family marketing right. (granted, most food prices at CP are still highway robbery...)

Then, there is the case of Holiday World... a park that stays afloat, keeps their rides in perfect running order, constantly adds and improves the park, puts in world-class coasters every 5 years, and does it all with a gate price of $34.95, free parking, free soft drinks, a free waterpark, food prices that are less than half of the prices at corporate parks, and dirt cheap merchandise prices.

It's absolutely horrible that Six Flags can't take a hint. It's all about quality versus pricing. Frankly, Six Flags parks just don't have enough quality to back up their completely outrageous prices.

hey..... i've got a GREAT marketing idea for six flags.....
hmm.. lets see here.. attendance is falling off at some of the best loved parks... people still love them , but there's no real incentive .. I know.... lets make them think it's their LAST CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!tell people that their beloved happy place might be closing down... THEY"LL FLOCK TO IT!!!!!!!!!!!
just a thought.......i mean announcing this at the begining of summer.. wow , what a coincedence.. some of you work at these parks.. has there been an increase in attendance since they made this announcement?

I definatly agree with cjd. Six flags pricing is ridiculous it cost 60 bucks to get in to Great adventure and 8 fricken dollars from dippin dots. Thats a lot and even SFA one of the most crappiest ones (hehe) is like 40 sumthin when busch gardens is that with cheaper food and cleaner park and better rides.
