Good old Intamin cable lifts, they seem to be breaking on everybody these days.

Hey, it's happened twice. And Intamin's Millenium Force was technically a prototype, and the lift was a cable style, this is a chain style. Lastly, I've heard that this was infact Six Flag's fault for incorrectly operating it.

^^^ Your reply makes sense in a slight way in conjunction with Kingda Ka and all.
But if no-one else pushes limits, who else will. Kindka Ka is obviously extremly intense, yeah it may be rough, but it gets your adrenaline pumping like a junkie halluicinating.
And ElToro is supposed to be amazing, absolutely superb, so can we complain? Not really.
The ride is extremly new, what can you expect, what happend to Kingda Ka in the first month of opening, a cable snapped, so imo it was expected.

He has 86 posts, enough said.

SO? Just because I don't spend all my time here doesn't mean anything.

Post count is displayed for a reason believe it or not.

And on MF, there is no "click-click" sound when going up the lift, it uses a much more linear system somewhat like the norm, but yet different.

And for those who can't grasp the idea of a typical anti roll back feature:

Yea theres a reason. It shows how many posts you have. I could of been the 1st member on here and only have 50 posts. Its the quality not quantity.

More often than not, those who post count is higher, is usually one who actually contributes to the forums in a respectful and correct manner. Spammers or immature people may reach the 500 mark or so and then give up, and as far as I'm concerned your still new here, regaurdless of member # or post count. There is no need to be so hostile.

To many people, inverting isn't really anything special anyways. Hence why EGF is rated much much higher than Colossus or random B&M floorlesses.

I'm sure El Toro did not cost that much more than a steel coaster of similar magnitude, if more at all... for the most part, you could say the same thing about any expensive steel ride; Millennium Force, SROS SFNE, TTD, etc.

It's once again difficult to follow your thoughts jayman, just to let you know.

Real, Raptor was 12 million a long time ago. I'm sure newer, similarly sized B&M inverts now cost more than that. El Toro's track length is just as long anyways, plus it's much more massive (and thrilling) than Raptor. I loved Raptor (it's my favorite invert) but El Toro is just so much more exciting, and nomatter what the building material, if prices were the same, I'd (and many many other people) would easily choose El Toro, without much consideration.

Materials. Whether its prefabbed or not, its made of wood and wood costs tons less than steel. Intamin is upcharging for design. Do the price comparisons. I think what TGG does is insane. Their rides are insanely smooth and complicated. Im sure they could do a ride exactly like Intamin with an error margain small enough to not notice. But their rides cost tons less.

Plus I dont think inflation has impacted coasters as much as everything else. Steel has gone up a little bit but its not like a ride that costs 12 mil back then will cost that much more (maybe a couple mil more) now.

Balder is far smaller than El Toro and cost 10 million. 10 million!!! Thats highway robbery. Awesome ride? Heck yea. But I still dont think from a parks perspective its as good a price as it should be.

That's a good point, but I don't think Intamin's high prices take as much away from that company as GG's low prices add to it. If they continue to put out the best or one of the best products, and people buy them, then they can charge that much.

Whether any of us thinks they're overpriced is an opinion thing, but I'm sure they know what they're doing when it comes to economics.
