i found a l chein japanese tin rollercoaster toy at the swap meet awhile back.. it was 40 dollars, and , like an idiot i didn't buy it..broken they go for 100 dollars or more at the big antique shows.. anyways i don't really like to buy things from ebay.. i'm a collector of old stuff, but ebay has more to do with the rediculous increase in price of many of the things that i'd like to buy. there's something about the old fashioned thrill of going shopping, not knowing what you'll find, digging in old paper and finding a 1950's kodakrome postcard of the coney island tornado, or an unused disneyland ticket book, or a 1981 (?) six flags map brochure. or bulshitting someone into selling you an old roland tr 77 drum machine for 7 dollars..texas instruments speak and spells for a dollar, casio sk5 for 5 dollars.. one of these days i know i'll run across some dude with a yamaha cs 01 that thinks it's just a table honker, and i walk away proudly with it for 10 bucks.. and spend the rest of the day being apprehended by other freaks who say "you paid WHAT.. i hate you!!!'
