Video File problems

Yesturday me and some friends made a hillarious video, but when it recorded it was in and .avi format. So I need it to be an .mpeg or something else! I can not open it in anything, so I can't edit it. So if you know how I can change the file type... Pease tell me!

You want to edit with the .avi format. Then once you are done editing you export it into w/e format you want to distribute it as.

Also I'm surprise you can't open it. Did you try installing Divx?
www.divx.com Although I highly doubt that's the problem. Anyways, keep it in .avi. If you can't edit with it, then there is something wronng with your computer.

It is made with my eyetoy with all the drivers then I used a program called WebPod Studio (a podcast program) and when we were done I went to edit it and it wouldn't show up in Windows Movie Maker. All it says is to change the file type and i can't so they only way I watch it is with Real Player... Any Ideas?

Windows Movie Player can't edit AVI. Use whatever progoram you used to capture the movie with to edit the video with aswell.
