Hersheypark is stating on their website that they are announcing something colossal for 2007.

100 Years of HAPPY!

HERSHEYPARK will be celebrating 100 YEARS of HAPPY in 2007!
On Wednesday, July 12th, a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT will be made regarding a COLOSSAL NEW attraction for 2007.

It is scheduled to be a water area, however I don't see how the words BIG and COLOSSAL can be used in termination with a water area. In other news the Flying Falcon has been disassembled [:(] Pictures can be found here: http://www.hersheyparkonline.com/templa ... %206/11/06

WHAT??!?!? The Flying Falcon has been taken out?!?!? That was one of HP's best flats. It scares the crap out of me, knowing there's only an inch of metal under me, being secured by a few nuts, bolts, etc. from dropping well over 100 feet to the ground. It sucks even more that their Chaos ws taken out too. :( Anyways, I'm betting their going to add a Hyper coaster, or taller. What other types of rides would BIG and COLOSSAL associate with anyway?

We have all heard of the water park, so we know that is for certain.

I would not be surprised if HP gets a huge drop tower of some sort as that is what that park really lacks. They already have three great woodies, so a large multi-looper or a hyper coaster would be the only logical coaster additions IMO.

I'm putting my money on a large drop tower or maybe even a topple tower.

I know for a fact it is a water park. Me and my brother took pics when we went and your gonna post them on the truip report but we never did. But when we got on the new dark ride (Reeses Cup Challange)} it broke down on us and we were stuck for like 20 minutes. So I told my brother to ask the mechanic and he said it was a water park. And plue when we were on lighting racer we saw pieces of water slide tubes on the ground. So yea its a water park.

I am speculating that in addition to the waterpark, Hershey may also put in another ride. When you descride a announcement as "a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT will be made regarding a COLOSSAL NEW attraction", that implies something a bit grander than a waterpark.

We all find out soon enough.

Well the park does lack a water area but I don't see how big and colossal has anything to do with it. I just hope if it's a drop tower it's more along the lines of Timer Tower than Drop Zone. I've seen too many Drop Zone towers and I don't think I wanna see another in my hometown park. (About an hour away) Also if it's a coaster I would like to think they wouldn't put another woodie back there with 3 other woodies. I doubt it will happen anytime soon but I think Hershey needs a giga coaster! [:D] Could you imagine driving up to Hershey and see a giant giga like Millenium Force? That would be awesome. I would also think that if they were planning on getting a new coaster that we would see track pieces somewhere like at CP. And if they do build their RCT3 track winner's coaster, hopefully it isn't bumpy and has a good design lol

They need to make up for that other wierd coaster that they were to put in but cancelled it [:\], but if it's actually water related, as in a water ride, I highly doubt it will be THAT exhilarating to coaster enthusiasts, maybe it'll be a family pleaser though. We know it won't be an Intamin as they already have one, maybe a B&M dive machine? Or a flying coaster or one of those new 4d coasters? I just doubt a park as versatile as that would stick with the same coaster firm again.

I know they already have an Intamin coaster but I was realting to more along the lines of a cable lift instead of a launch. I'm starting to see a B&M Dive Machine strand here. A lot of parks are starting to use em.

Last season I was talking to a security guard for the park and she said that there is a drop tower in the works. Who knows.

well, I saw the waterslide tubes in a pic, and compared to the people in cars behind them the tubes seemed awefully small...

I think those ones are part of the kiddy area...Because the mechanic said there were also making a childrens area...and stop saying its a coaster people Its a water park the mechanic told me and he was no lower class mechanic he was like head mechanic. But they could put a drop tower where flying falcon is. But in miday america constuction area its all water park.

Well I'm not suprised, it's a lame waterpark AKA breeding ground for germs.

I'm certainly not paying a visit back to HP until they get a new decent ride.

I'm starting to see a B&M Dive Machine strand here. A lot of parks are starting to use em.

There are three dive machines in existence, Sheikra - 2005, G5 - 2000, Oblivion - 1998. Unless you consider almost 10 years recent?
