how come we never see "man dies after bus ride" or "man dies after attending church" or "man dies after eating dinner" or "man dies after walking on sidewalk' this is unfortunate, but not related to the ride.

because people react more to somthing like a rollercoaster accident rather than someone walking on a sidewalk... and, unfortunatly, reactions are what feed the Media's Evil Empire.

So far, the Son of beast incident is the only one of the coaster incidents that was actually due to the coaster. I think that the real issue here isn't that coasters are getting more dangerous, but that people are getting fatter and lazier. The simple math is that the more unhealthy people that there are, the more people there are that might have health issues on coasters.

Yeah, thats what I've been noticing. Wild Thing was also a track problem, but all these other incidents seem to have just been health problems that happened to be set off by the rides.

Edit: It's also funny in all of the news articles that they always say how the ride's sloagan is "tallest and fastest in the southeast" or whatever it happens to be. It's almost like if the ride featured a "Heart-Stopping Drop" and someone died on it, they would point to that and say that the ride is too dangerous.

Add Robin Chiller and Mr. Freeze to the list of ride malfunctions this year cjd. It does seem like there have been a lot of accidents and other injuries this year, whether they were because of the ride or because of pre-existing conditions. Still, they're one of the safest forms of recreation in the world, so there isn't much to worry about.
