And it is the riders fault. coasters are, and it is a proven fact, up to 1000 times safer than a car. the man should not have gotten on. no sympathy from me.

Nah, I bet Rattler collapses first!

Really...if you see something that's 200 feet tall...it's not for the faint heart buddy.

Yes, but there are also more cars. And you go in a car fully realizing the inherent dangers. You don't pay $50 admission to go to a themepark and later die.

You don't (shouldn't) go onto coasters without reading what the signs say.

^ when was the last time you read the sign?[;)]
The fact is, regardless if anyone read the sign or not, they probably would still go on regardless if they had some heart conditions mainly because no one expects it to happen to them. You can't exactly put the blame on the person who died when the fact is majority of people (including active park goers) never read the signs. The problem is know one is willing to listen, nor do they want to deny themselves going on a ride that just dished out park admission for.

"He was known to have ridden a roller coaster at some point in his life, and he DIED!"

I mean it's sad, but really... did he smoke? eat fatty foods? history of heart trouble? high blood pressure? diabetes? But no, he had been on a roller coaster, that must be it.

Everything we do is a risk, even gardening as GRIMM pointed out (killed to death, I liked that), but here's a tip: eventually the house ALWAYS wins.

No one gets out alive, I say if someone wants to go on a coaster with a tricky heart knowing full well they might not get off I say let them. It'd be my preferred way to go, right after that OTHER one (ahem).

Life, a leading cause of death! News at 11:00pm(PST, also on Telemundo).
Be sure you're not looking in a mirror before you start pointing fingers.

I hate people who try and blame amusement parks for deaths of people with heart problems. Their idiots.
